the woman doesn't speak a word of english except when she asks you pay up front. nice old typical italian woman who made great breakfast in the morning!! if you don't know how to speak italian you're pretty much stuffed if you need to ask the signora anything unless you're patient enough to use pointing methods or acting out what you need!
there are 2 train stations close by and the vatican/st peters and all the tours etc are maybe 10 mins away in the car. there is also the big market at the bottom of the hill, and don't just buy the price on the tag, haggle them - it works all the time i got some really neat stuff!!
its pretty hard to find in the dark, but if you do get there after dark - its up this little alleyway - you just have to walk up it and you come to a gate where you press the buzzer to get let in. i thought it was reasonably priced for the location (really close to everything). it was a good score on our part esp with a continental breakfast included!

We stayed for 3 nights and we had a great stay.
Our room was lovely, large and clean.The bathroom very large and new. The owner was helpful & welcoming (she speak only italian language but has no problem). The hotel is well placed within a 10 minute walk from the Vatican city and shopping center. Well connected with metro and bus. There is an internet point in the common area. Breakfast was simply but very tasty. We will stay again.

Having read many first-class reviews I was expecting something special. And it was - in strange ways. The elderly lady proprietor spoke no English and seemed unwilling to help tourists. The b&b is actually the second floor of an apartment block in a rather drab area of Rome though convenient for metro and Vatican. Entry & exit resembles Fort Knox. Breakfast typical continental but avoid the coffee. Proprietor doesn't take plastic. Insists on full payment in euros when you arrive. We had been assured by email that we could leave our luggage there on last day as we had night flight. No such facility and this lady was not for turning. Quiet location, very comfortable room. But overall, pay a few euros more for somewhere better, with maybe a smile and a word or two of English.

Vatican's house is a very cozy b&b, 10 minutes from vatican area and shopping streets. We had a wonderfull spacious quadruple room . Common bathroom always clean.Tasty breakfast (for italian standard). The owner very cooperative and wellcoming. Very good value for money.
