when i make the reservation i saw the map, and realize that hotel was near the station muratella, but it was too far away, and the road was too dangerouse, the bus line 32 was most inefficient, 1 bus per hr.

there sould be a transfer bus from the hotel to the station, basically because the hotel area was under construction, even the ibis name on green letters was covered, impossible to see at night. i was charged for a extra bed for my sister daughter* age 12.

nevertheless the hotel was ok, the rooms extremely clean. and brand new, and the staff was wonderfull .

The rooms are very nice and clean, comfortable. The staff wasnt exactly the most friendly I've ever seen. For breakfast expect to have a lot of sweet stuff: fruit, fresh juice, milk and cereals, cookies, pastry, fruit salad, jam, honey, and some of their specific ham and cheese.

We checked in late at night, around 2 o'clock so I have to admit they were really understanding.

Prices are really good comparing to other hotels.

We had no problem with the location as we were there to visit Fiera Roma which is quite close. But if you want to get downtown you sure have to drive a lot.

Hotel was inexpensive but new, kinda like a Motel 6; however, while it is close to the airport, the taxis are dispatched from Rome and you pay from the time they take the call until they pick you up and drop you at the airport - so, you pay a fortune to get to the hotel (so you're close to the airport) and then you pay a fortune to get transported to the airport. The only alternative is to haul your stuff to the train station near the hotel - which is at least 1/2 mile away. Stay in Rome, take the train to the airport - save a ton of money and you'll also have places to go to eat....

This is a brand new Ibis opened in July 2006. It's located in a new residential zone close to the ring motorway around Rome.

The room & building are great; better than any Ibis I've used before. However, the whole area is half built & literally 'under construction'. Massive blocks of flats are being built behind the hotel & the roads around are still unsurfaced.

There is literally nothing around in walking distance apart from a small supermarket beneath one of the blocks of flats which are finished.

Unless you have a car you are going nowhere fast from this hotel. It's miles from the centre of Rome. The railway station is a considerable distance away along a road without any sensible pavement.

However with your own transport good for Ostia. Also only about 30 mins to the huge underground carpark close to the Vatican (literally five mins walk to St. Peters).

The hotel service was not good. Strange tick-box menu at dinner. Even with this food selections chosen were missed. Not recommened, but as there is nothing I could see in sensible walking distance, you've haven't got much choice.

I got the feeling that the staff were mostly new & need some time to 'bed in'. Check-in very slow.

My conclusions; room very good & hotel very clean & tidy; location good for the motorway but poor for downtown; restaurant poor & staff need more time to reach an acceptable standard.
