We could not have been treated nicer or better. After arriving in Rome, our luggage was missing. The nice ladies at the front desk (most notably Alessandria) were most helpfull. They called the airline many times and even submitted our clothing bill after we had to buy clothes. When the luggage finally showed up, it was in our room. The room was very nice, overlooking a very busy Via Nationale. The windows do open and when shut the noise of the street is completely blocked out. The pillows on the bed are perfect and the shower was the best ever..lots of pressure! The in-room breakfast each mornig was just right, and the coffee was an excellent kick-start to a busy day of sightseeing. The elevator is small, but my wife and I were able to ride with all of our luggage (finally). This is a very roomy Hotel when compared to other European hotels. There is a staricase to enter the hotel. However it is not steep, and only ten or so steps. The location is perfectly central to every major sight.
I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD ABOUT IT.

This was an excellent base for a romantic getaway in Rome. The price was very reasonable, decor tasteful and modern and very clean. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from metro station and 20 minute walk from most major attractions. The staff were friendly and very helpful - on checking in the receptionist showed us on a map where all major attractions were and how to get there. Hotel is on a fairly main road, but well insulated from noise, we were on second floor but only heard the occasional siren.
Breakfast was good quality and having it served in room every morning just added to the romance. However, may not be for you if you are shy as the door to the bathroom is glass and you can see everything!
We would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Rome.

We booked this hotel having looked at possibly every hotel in Rome. We found we were met with loads of chintzy hotels and very expensive. We finally settled on tis hotel. It was without fail the best decision I made in 2006!!!!! It was stunning. We had a gorgeous room, that was very very very well apointed, great views and a brilliant location. The street was busy, but a good busy, more of a hustle and bustle instead of traffic and pollution. It was really central and we walked everywhere. The Termini is just round the corner (5 minute walk) the Trevi is about 10 minutes away and the most breath taking place ever. The Colloseum was about 10-15 minutes walk away, and all the gorgeous piazza's are a stones throw away. The only long walk was the Vatican and St Peters, but it was so close to every where else it was worth it. Its the kind of city to walk in as well so don't get taxis or coaches everywhere.

Back to the hotel though, it was ultra clean, modern and very spacious. The staff were bi lingual and very sweet. It was strylish, modern and so special. I would stay there every time I visit Rome and we will be going back. The bathroom was marble and finished to a very high standard as was the decor of the rest of the room.

My girlfriend and I absolutely loved our stay there and I couldn't of wished for a better hotel, it made our stay.

Contemporary styling. A flight of stairs at entrance (no elevator). Mostly pleasant and helpful staff at reception. Problem: at night the entrance is locked and guests must be buzzed in. My first night in Rome, I went out for a drink and returned to be left out in the cold and rain for half an hour b/c the doorman was asleep on his cot and did not hear me buzzing. I had to go to a neighbouring hotel where the receptionist gracioulsy phoned the Opera Hotel to have me let in. No compensation was offered to me, despite my complaint the next day. In the single room that I had, the shower is not enclosed; therefore, water splashes all around and the floor needs to be dammed with towels to prevent a minor flood. The breakfast included (7:30-10:30) is not substantial enough to get through the morning. There is free internet access in the room but not wireless and, if you use a Mac, you may have trouble configuring your settings to get a connection. I slept well with earplugs and the bed was comfortable. The location is great.

Having not had a holiday this year was really looking forward to a relaxing 4 days in Rome... Oh how wrong can one be!

The Opera Hotel is on Via National, one of the main roads in Rome, having said this we couldn't have asked for anything better.

The hotel is small, has very friendly staff, is extremely clean and perfect for a city visit. If you want a big hotel lobby to relax in and a bar to have a drink after a long day, then this isnt the hotel for you.

However, if you want a trendy room with a good shower, big comfy bed and breakfast-in-bed every morning then book now.

It is ideally and centrally located for all the sites , most within walking distance, tho would recommend an open bus tour to get yourself orientated... and you'll get you rest those tooties for a couple of hours!

Would recommend this hotel... tho keep your eyes open as it can be easy to miss!

  • Disliked — Not much too dislike... but dont expact the Ritz
