Recently spent 3 days at this campsite and had a really good stay. We hired one of the mobile homes/bungalows and was very good value for money and exceptionally clean. The campsite has a small pool in a lovely setting and it was great to have a swim and lounge by the pool after a long day walking around the city. The campsite restaurant and bar is nice too, it's at the top of the campsite and has lovely views into the hills.
I would recommend this site for a short stay as it's quite small and you might get bored if you were staying longer than a week. It's about 10 miles out of Rome to Prima Porta, the little place where the train station is and then another 5 miles to the campsite. The site runs a minibus tp and from Prima Porta which starts at 08.00 and runs every hour until 11.00 and then stops until 14.00. The last bus back to the site is at 22.30 so you can get a full day in Rome if you want to. Travel on the local trains is really cheap , with the ticket to Rome costing just 1 Euro. The only thing to be mindful of is travel to the airport. We were flying out of Rome on a very early flight and couldn't use public transport to get there and so had to take a taxi and this was really expensive at 55 euros when you consider that the journey is only 20 minutes. We were told that this is because the area where the site is located does not have a taxi company and so taxis have to come out of Rome centre.
That aside, we really like the site and would go back as it's very peaceful and friendly.
