My husband and I loved everything about this hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous from even before we arrived. Very helpful through email with setting up "limo" service upon our arrival in the Rome airport. They were also very helpful with suggestions for sights and restaurants.
The room was a tad small but we felt it served its purpose as we were out of the room 90% of the time anyway. Small but very clean and sleek room and bathroom. Bed was a little hard but again, served its purpose after a looonng day of walking and sightseeing.
Great location to all nearby important sights - I'd say in about 5 minutes we were at the Vatican and surrounding area. Located in beautiful building but if we didn't have a limo driver there to actually show us where Roma dei Papi was - we'd probably never have found it! It is hidden within a building. No big deal to us...just something I figured would be important if you were to drive or find it on your own!
Breakfast was small, but expected in Italy. Excellent coffee and ate Nutella every day :) You will not be disappointed by your stay here!

Roma Dei Papi is a nice little place with about 8 -10 rooms.

Room is clean neat and nice and the location is excellent once you get it the first time :)

The staff is courteous and ready to help at all times.

Quite a few restaurants around the place and the vatican is just a few mintues away from the hotel.

Breakfast is allright and on a budget this hotel is good enough.

We have just returned from Rome having stayed in the Roma dei Papi hotel. We got the shuttle from the airport which had been arranged with the hotel for €50, it brought us direct to the door and the chauffeur brought our cases into reception for us. It doesn't look like a hotel from the outside but looks lovely nonetheless.

The room we were allocated was very spacious, with a large bed, international tv stations, mini bar, telephone,hairdryer, safe and ensuite. The room was lovely and warm and I had the best 2 nights sleep ever.

As it is a family run hotel I was just expecting a croissant and coffee for breakfast, but there were cereals, ham, cheese, juices, teas etc. as well. The breakfast area was compact, though it didn't matter as we couldn't wait to get out and explore what Rome had to offer.

The area surrounding the hotel is great, beside the Castle Saint Angelo and Bridge, which are fantastic landmarks, and only up the road is St. Peters Square and the vatican. Across the river is piazza navona/ pantheon and surrounds with great restaurants everywhere.

We recommend getting the hop on hop off bus and it stops just across from the castle on your way back to the hotel. It is also good for going to Termini if you need to catch the bus back to campino airport. It was €18 for 24 hours and €23 for 48 hours. It also gives the history of Rome as you travel.

If I was going to Rome again( which I presume I will after throwing my coin into the trevi fountain) I would definitely stay at this hotel.

Location - the hotel is very hard to find so if you are arriving by taxi, get the hotel to book it for you. We made the mistake of getting our own taxi (which was 10 euro more!) and spent half an hour trying to find the hotel. If you are arriving by other means, just ask anyone where the COOP is and the hotel is about 20 yards to the left. The hotel is in a great location, you can walk to anywhere in Rome and just over the bridge is Piazza Navona, lovely at night. The area is very nice and feels safe at night.
Hotel - Don't expect luxury but the hotel is nice and very clean. It is quite modern and has everything you need. There is a fridge in the room, small plasma TV and bathroom with good shower. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. My only criticism of this hotel are that the beds are not very comfortable and the pillows were awful (I think they had been washed and had gone very lumpy), the breakfast was mediocre. If the hotel paid attention to these things it would be perfect.
I would recommend this hotel mostly for it's location.
