The service here sucks!! There was 4 people working at the front but they could only serve one at a time. The other 3 ppl would just ignore you. The breakfast was 12 euro if you didn't pay for it ahead of time on the internet.... The eggs were horrible and the rest was just dry bread and buns etc. The only good thing on there was the bacon, but 12 bucks for a plate of bacon is too much. The heat wasn't on in the hotel when we got there so the first night I had to sleep fully clothed with a hoody on to stay warm. Needless to say we only stayed there until our friend arrived and got the hell out of there. It's way to far from anything cool anyways, it was super easy to find a hotel right downtown close to everything and way cheaper!

The hotel was good for our purposes. We had free car parking and a cheap means of travel into Rome each day. Stayed here September 30th, October 1st & 2nd, 2008

The hotel provides a shuttle service which leaves and returns twice a day. Very good value for money.

Our only problem with this hotel was getting there with a GPS. The GPS could not find the hotel using the hotel's address. We had to phone the hotel twice to finally reach someone who could understand our problem. We had to put in a cross street so that the GPS could find the hotel.

We complained to the hotel about this oversight. We had spent 2 hours in peak hour traffic trying to find the hotel.

Other than the GPS episode we had no complaints. It was very reasonably priced.

I booked the hotel from last minute.com on the secret hotel page, it sounded too good to be true..and it was. Once we got to Termini station we were told (after an hour of trying to find help) the hotel is miles out, cost 25 euros+ every time u want to come into rome, so we got to hotel, staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful. hotel restaurant was closed, it was a half hour walk to nearest restaurant (mcpatches) which was terrible, and there was no room service available. The next mornin we realised just how far out we were, u have to get a bus (the 508) from outside a building which looks like a jail, then once u reach ponte mammalo u get the tube to termini, this takes about an hour in total. on a night time u have to be back at ponte mammalo for 11 otherwise u have to get another taxi! and they charge from wherver they r, so cud be 15 euros b4 they have even reached the hotel, much to my disgust. room (once we got upgraded to a suite was lovely) as our sink broke, this was after a day of complaining tho...did i forget to mention that there are a few undesirables loitering around the road to the hotel (prostitutes). if u are a 1st time couple going to rome then don't book this hotel, its just ruins the holiday. stay as near to via nacionale/via repubblica/via condotti as possible. The staff really do disregard u aswell and make no effort to point u in the right direction at all.
rubbish. probably good if ur there for business, but we were there for sightseein and for a romantic break - and just ended up in a bad mood most of the time. guttted.

  • Liked — the suite was nice when we got upgraded
  • Disliked — the staff and the location

Arrived with parents in tow and luckily checked in before a 60 seater coach of impatient Americans.
The hotel reception run by two friendly girls was under severe pressure trying to book lots of guests in and simultaneously answer the continual ringing phones. (More staff needed at reception).

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Satellite TV was disappointing if you are English!

Evening meal choice at the bar or restaurant, we chose the bar which again was understaffed. The single barman/waiter got most of the order correct but did not charge for the wrong items.

Good nights sleep.

Breakfast was either 4 Euros for a croissant and coffee or 12 Euros for fruit and rolls and similar, boiled egg and the like.

We paid the 12 Euros and again I was not impressed! The staff were surly and not particularly interested. (Do these people choose hotel work? Perhaps it is the only work they can find. We are spoiled in the U.K by Eastern Europeans who seem genuinely interested.
Put off the rolls by the cockroach I spotted climbing out of the bread basket, wife's scrambled eggs were cold- staff indifferent!

Check out was another adventure, more staff needed!!

Apart from that- enjoyable stay, role on the Astura Palace Hotel in Nettuno. Standby for next report..........

This was a disappointed experience and I would not recommend this so-called "4 star" hotel to others. I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. My basin in my bathroom was broken but I have called the reception for the night and no one attended to fix the problem. The receptionists were quite rude too !!!
