This is an excellent 4* hotel. It is very clean and modern with good facilities - we upgraded to a room with a spa bath which was heaven after walking the streets of Rome all day long! The breakfasts were good although only tinned fruit and no fresh, but all the staff were very helpful.

The hotel is in a perfect location just a 5 minute walk from the train station which is ideal when you have heavy cases with you. It took approx 20-25 minutes to stroll to the Colosseum from here. I would use this hotel again.

I booked a room with Expedia and confirmed late arrival with hotel by email.
Arrived as planned to be told they gave away the room and booked us elsewhere. New hotel was inferior, small dark room, pay Wi-fi, bad A/C.
Was told that Diocleziano does this all the time, had been informed that the room at the new hotel was inferior, but they didn't care.
Maybe the reviews are good, but you cannot trust this place to honor their commitments.

We are very sorry about the bad experience these clients had. We made a mistake registering their booking but nobody of us thought about a better deal; the good reviews we usually receive prove that the clients of Hotel Diocleziano are always in our first thoughts, not after our revenue. It is not our policy to not honour reservations. Unfortunately it happened because we are human beings and sometimes we make mistakes but we do not like hide away giving poor excuses. We realized our mistake the day of arrival. We suddenly reserved the same kind of room in a good four star hotel in a more central and expensive location (Via Nazionale). Unfortunately, although we asked for a special treatment for these clients, we came to know from the guests that the room wasn’t nice and that were told them untruths about hotel Diocleziano from the employers. We used this hotel for the second time since our opening (January 2006) so we cannot understand why somebody told to the guests that “Diocleziano does this all the time”. Last but not least we booked the same kind of room requested by the guests, not a room of inferior quality. We immediately cancelled this hotel from our hotel partners. We have not words about this accident, we really apologise with the guests and we invite them to contact us to think about the best compensation they can deserve.

The location was great - walking distance to shops, restaurants, and train terminal.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.

Just returned from a 2-night stay at the Hotel Diocleziano at the end of a cruise. The hotel had a great location (I was a little worried as the area around the Termini station can be seedy, but this is off in a nice, quite area). We took the subway and buses several times and it was great having this within a 5 minute walk.

The rooms were nice although a bit small. Very clean though and our air conditioner atually seemed to work quite well even though it was fairly warm out. Seems like it might be a bit of a problem if it gets to be during a heat wave.

The staff were excellent and arranged transportation from the port in Rome to the hotel and also a taxi to the airport for quite a bit less than what we could have obtained on our own. I dealt mostly with Diego (the hotel manager) and Giordano at the front desk and both were very friendly and accommodating.

Could of things that could be improved upon that have been mentioned previously- Diet Coke (Coca-Lite) should be an option in the fridge and the mattesses were not the most comfortable. Great job apart from that.

The service was great. The staff made arrangements for restaurants, taxis, and museums that were wonderful. The room was on the small side but the bed was comfortable. We did not spend much time in the room so the size was not that important. The mini bar was stocked with drinks that were free of charge. The hotel had a nice exercise room with showers. They had 2 computers in the lobby that you could use for a nominal fee. The location was perfect. It was a short 5 - 10 minute walk to either the train station or metro station. The breakfast was good. There was nothing that we did not like about this hotel. We would definetly recommend it to others.
