“Brilliant location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

We recently spent 4 nights at the Inn at the Roman Forum and had a very good experience. Took the option of a half priced transfer from the airport and this turned out to be great value as some of our subsequent cab rides through Romes morning traffic cost us more. Checkin was smooth and room was good, can be a little bit noisy if your on the street side of the building. Sort the help of the reception staff on a number of occasions and generally they were helpful. Location is great, Colleseum & Forum are right there and it is within walking distance of many of Romes attractions.

Only criticism is the variety at breakfast if your staying for a few days but this is probably to be expected at what is a boutique hotel.

Make sure you check out the Roman ruins under the hotel located behind reception.

The hotel arranged for our pickup at the airport, and even though our flight was an hour late our driver was there to greet us. He spoke little English, but it was no problem. It is difficult to drive up to the front of this hotel, so valets will carry your bags up a slight hill. Part of the charm of this hotel is that it is nestled away so it is very quiet and private. Each room in the hotel is different and interesting. The staff was delightful, Sylvia, William, and Valentina could not have been nicer or more helpful. Be sure if you stay here to take a tour of the ruins which are part of the hotel. There is a seafood restaurant a block and a half away which is fabulous, Osteria Corte Del Grillo. I must warn you if you that the bed in our room was very low, so if you have a problem getting out of a low bed ask for a different room. I think we were in room #302. We definately recommend this hotel as it is close to all the special attractions in Rome.

Our stay at the Inn was really great. Got an upgrade to the best exec room, great breakfast, transfer to and from the airport worked really well. The location in ancient Rome is fantastic - we could walk everywhere. Great helpfull staff, we had a great stay!

Room Tip: Go for an upgrade, the other rooms are quite small

Myself and my new husband stayed in this wonderful hotel for our honeymoon and I can honestly say I can not fault it. The most fabulous asset this hotel has is the location. A stones throw from the Colosseum it is no more than a 15 minute walk away from the Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps in the heart of Rome. However as it is tucked away in the back streets we were still able to enjoy a quiet romantic meal away from the crowds.
The hotel itself is a marvel steeped full of history. The attention to detail from the staff was magnificent and nothing was ever too much trouble.
The breakfast was brilliant and you must sit on the roof garden over looking Ancient Rome whilst sipping your morning coffee or with a glass of wine in the evening that comes with a generous complimentary buffet. A special thank you goes to Sylvie who arranged our cars to and from the airport that are must.
The room was beautiful with a plush bathroom and a generous sitting area. Excellent value for money We will definitely be returning. Thank you The Inn at the Roman Forum for making our honeymoon a very special time that we will remember forever xxx

Where to start.... truly a unique experience.

I stayed at this charming Inn with my family for just over a week, and I can confidently say I couldn't have chosen better! Having done some research I booked through the hotels web page directly, having seen that in doing so one could save on longer stays.
We arranged for a transfer from the airport, which punctually delivered us the the hotel. The staff were warm and welcoming. The receptionist even took the time to show us the incredible Roman crypt that is located just beyond the reception... Needless to stay we were all stunned!

Our room was clean, spacious and beautifully appointed. The bathroom was large, elegant and functional - my wife and daughter loved the jacuzzi! Breakfast was delicious as was the evening buffet which could be enjoyed on purchasing a drink.

The view from the terrace was breathtaking, especially in the evening as the sun set over the Roman skyline...

The Inn is located on an intimate and quiet street - only 5 minuets aways from both the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. It's location is second to none, providing immediate access to the sights but also local amenities - like typical restaurants and various boutiques.

I would recommend this charming hotel to anyone traveling to Rome with their family, but also for a romantic getaway. It certainly deserves it's 5 starts and I hope to return to it in a near future!

Room Tip: The room with private garden on the 4th floor is enchanting - it could be taken from a movie set.

As soon as we booked this hotel (via Booking.com), they contacted us to confirm, and offer a transfer from the airport. That worked like clockwork, and we were greeted by the very friendly and helpful staff. Our room did not have a view but was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, with an excellent shower. We took breakfast on the roof terrace with stunning views of rooftops and the nearby forum. Breakfast is plentiful and the cappucinos are excellent. The local area is full of charming cobbled streets with many restaurants and bars, but is blissfully quiet at night. It's a short 5-10 min walk to the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and almost all the major sights, so very well located. Highly recommended.

We might have lower expectations than quite a few reviewers of this hotel, but we found this 'Inn' the best of all of our hotels in our recent trip in Italy.
We arranged a pick-up from the airport that worked like a charm and delivered us right to the door; one of the hotel workers was right there to help us with our luggage; then served us very welcomed welcome drinks while the paperwork was done.
Our room looked exactly as the photos and the jacuzzi was most appreciated by my wife and grand-daughter as was the waiting fruit platter. The room was spacious enough for the three of us; very quiet, but lovely when opening the windows to the small street in the morning and having the feeling that one is part of the city.
The staff was unbelievably helpful, very friendly and always courteous and we enjoyed the afternoon snacks most evenings while we were there in the upstairs area. Breakfast was also served there and on the terrace overlooking the roofs of the city: lovely.
I also found the roof garden pretty amazing - one wouldn't think that it is on the 4th floor of a city hotel and the photo of it doesn't do justice to it's looks.
The location is also pretty nigh unbeatable - less than 5 minutes from the Colosseum and the underground, right next to the ruins of the Forum, not to mention the actual 2000 year old diggings right inside of the hotel. I don't know many places where one can open a door from reception and step in to an ancient building... I found it awesome.
Overall this hotel certainly deserves it's 5-star rating in my opinion and when in Rome we will surely choose it again for another stay.
