After my first trip to Rome in 2003 I quickly learned that the most important detail in booking a hotel in Rome is to be far from the Termini Train Station. There are number of areas to choose from but being close to the Piazza Navona is especially nice when you have a short visit in Rome. My fiancee and family stayed here for only one night in October in an effort to squeeze in some time in my favorite European city on our way up north to Siena.
The staff was very friendly and allowed space to store our bags during the day. They had wonderful restaurant recommendations and were happy to call cabs for us. The bathrooms were phenomenal which is important after flying all night and arriving in warm weather.
The rooms were clean and quiet and they came with vouchers for a complimentary local Italian breakfast of croissants and espresso - the breakfast of champions for weary travelers!
Considering its prime location near the Piazza Navona and all the little "extras" (slippers, hard candy and breakfast), we wished we could have stayed longer.
The only complaint was having to walk our suitcases up a few flights of stairs however it was well worth it to be safe and comfortable.
