“Happy and at home in Rome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013 via mobile

This is my first visit to Rome and after an exhaustive review of hotels I decided to choose this one based on its location to the Vatican. When my wife and I first arrived on an early am flight to Rome we easily found our way to this cute little bed and breakfast a few blocks walk from the Lepanto metro stop. Their was a gentleman outside who serves as the building porter who seemed to know we were coming and showed us to the 2nd floor which is where the B&B is located. The building is very nice, and very secure. The whole area is quite safe and full of nice shops and restaurants. Walking distance to St. Peter's and many others famous Rome sites.
The bed and breakfast itself is very nice and quiet. The rooms are well maintained, although as is seemingly typical in Europe, equipped with a shower and no tub. The housekeeper and morning attendant are very hard workers and very outgoing to make sure you are content. Their is free wi- fi, but our room was the furthest from the lobby so it was spotty for us, no big deal because we were welcome to sit in the breakfast reception area and relax while using the Internet. Ludavica at the reception desk was very sweet, and spoke English as well as Spanish. I love the way she says"Okaaay"! Breakfast in the morning consists of good coffee, croissants, cereals, fruits. Small and quaint and makes you feel like your at home rather than some every other hotel chain. I love this place and will return again hopefully in December.
Asa far as mobility around Rome, the Lepanto station is 5 blocks away, but once you get a map of Rome you will find walking to the landmarks nicer than riding the trains. Their is so much to see along all the hidden roads that you could spends days just wandering.

The rooms are small but comfortable; the service is great. Continental breakfast available (great espresso machine!). The location is amazing - walking distance to the Vatican. Safe to walk around at night; excellent restaurants walking distance.
It could be confusing when you first arrive as it's on the 2nd floor of a building and after hours you need a key to get in. Keys are provided at check in. But it's very secure which is comforting.
The price is great, especially for the location. If you are looking for a luxury hotel, this isn't it. But if you want a safe, comfortable place to stay with very nice people in a perfect location, this is the place.

When we reached Residenza Vaticana, we found it to be a very friendly place. Although you have to take a somewhat questionable lift up to the second floor where the hotel is located, the environment inside the hotel is very cozy and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and cooperative.

We got a small room, but very neat and clean, and nicely decorated. The room was not noisy. I had the best sleep of my tour in that room. The windows have a shutter also, after closing which no noise enters from the outside. The bathroom was a little small but very clean. The breakfast was normal cold breakfast but nice.

The location of the hotel is more than ideal. Its close to the metro station, so you can take the metro from Roma termini. Also, its a 5 min walk to Castle St. Angelo and the Vatican City in the south. 10 min walk to Piazza del Poppollo to the west. Many small nearby places to eat which are open late till night.

A very good experience over all. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a budgeted stay in Rome.

Very noisy room, couldn't sleep and rest. Breakfast was nothing special served in a very small room. On the positive note the lady that was helping us was nice. She didn't speak very good English but enough to understand us. I would not stay this B&B again.

I'm torn between rating Residenza Vaticana a 3 or a 4. First - understand this is not a hotel. It is a B&B in what I believe is a condominium building. You may have a hard time finding it. Our driver from the airport took us to the address, and said this is the place with a somewhat puzzled look on his face.

Coming from North America, we arrived in Rome early in the morning. The woman at the Residenza Vaticana was very friendly and did more than I would have expected to get rooms ready for us well before the stated check in time. We really appriciated this. All the staff members we encountered were nice.

The rooms are small. The bathroom is small, and the shower is very small. They are all adequate if you are not expecting hotel type accommodations. The beds were hard, but I actually prefer a hard bed, so this was just fine for me. My family had comments, however.

The breakfast is not much to speak of, but again, it can be adequate if you are not expecting a hotel type spread.

The location is convenient to the Vatican and not far from a Metro station that can get you to other parts of Rome fairly easily.

Room Tip: There are only, I believe, 4 rooms, so don't fret this.
