We are a senior couple and stayed in Rome, Casa Franci for 7 nights after a cruise, last November. The hosts were available to come and pick us up at the port where we disembarked 80miles away, for what we later found to be a very reasonable rate. They were really helpful with all our many suitcases and quickly checked in. The room we had was basic, but we found all we needed. We had wireless internet at no extra fee, and the safe was very convenient. Although it had a balcony, the room was the one without the view, however we were always able to go to the other balcony to enjoy the view of the Vatican. We were told that some buildings in Rome had no lift and were a bit scared before arrival, but their elevator took us all the way to the 5th floor. We managed to use the local bus line to visit Rome, and found the nearby hop-on-hop-off bus very helpful when we got tired. Francesca, the host, helped us plan our trip with her kind daily briefings. We even managed to go for one-day trip to Florence, departing directly from the local rail station behind the B&B. Rome is a wonderful city and when we come back, we will certainly stay in Casa Franci again.

We are home after from our Dec long weekend break in Rome, and stayed in Casa Franci. We found the hosts were very helpful and helped by telling us what to visit during our short trip. Having read other reviews, we also had the Green room, but did not mind the bathroom outside the room: after all the rate was very low considering the location, and it was just for three days. We must say that the room, and even the bathroom are really big just for two persons. The balcony with the great view of the Vatican is incredible. The location helped us quickly visit all we wanted to with no problems. I advise that you walk to the sites instead of catching a bus. Although the stop is right next to the B&B, Rome traffic makes it quicker to walk. The atmosphere is very quiet and private and although there were other guests in the other room, we heard nothing but the cars in the street. We had a nice break and Casa Franci was a good part of it.

Me and my wife had a long weekend in Rome and booked this BED AND BREAKFAST after reading very enthousiastic reviews.

We were very disappointed. Hoping for a beautiful little get-a-way, this place is located in a flat! Since the location itself is great we didn't get disappointed straight away, but the room made our faces turn sad. The green room, which is supposed to have a private bedroom, doesn't. Well, you have a private bedroom, but it's located on the other side of the appartement!

But, I want to add here also, that the people who run/own the appartement were nothing but fair and nice. We explained that we were expecting a more private little getaway and we've asked to get our money back. We decided to stay 1 out of 3 nights and looked in Rome for a place more to our liking. The owners didn't give us trouble at all, and made all the papers in order to get our money back! So no complaints at all about the owners, lovely people and very willing to help.

So in conclusion: As a couple I would not stay here again, and if I would, I would not take the green room. I guess for a group of friends or a family it's a nice place, but still for this price there are better places in Rome!

This is a great little place to stay if you are not looking for fancy or high price. View from our balcony was fantastic, especially at night. Room was basic but very comfortable, and breakfast was nutritious and very European. The bus and train station are right around the corner, making everything very easy to get to. If you are looking for a clean, convenient and reasonable spot to serve as your base to explore all of the city, this is the place.
