There's not much I can add to the other great reviews here. I highly recommend this charming hotel! We had a large suite four our family of 4 (2 teens) and enjoyed the convenient location as well as internet access in the lobby (5 euro / hr.). The staff was quite accommodating and kind. I recommend the restaurants nearby on via Nazionalle, as well as a long evening stroll over to Maccaroni Restaraunt. Excellent!

I can't say enough to describe the amazing experience I had staying at this hotel. Upon arrival, my husband and I were extremely tired from our 12 hour flight, starving and desperately in need of a shower. We arrived at the hotel, and the staff was extremely welcoming. Our room needed a little tlc, but was clean, comfortable and they provided a tv with satilite reception, so we were able to watch all of our favorite shows from home. The hotel is very quiet at night, and the breakfast buffet was quite desireable. We ate there every morning of our 5 night stay. It is very close to the Spanish steps, and other attractions. All in all, my experience with this hotel was great. It is not the Hyatt or Westin, but definitely a comfortable, affordable option.

The hotel is conveniently located just off the Via Nazionale and is within walking distance of many of the major tourist attractions such as the Fontane de Trevi, The Spanish steps as well as being near the 64 bus route that takes you to St Peters. The main bus/train station is no more than 6 miutes walk away. The staff were friendly and very helpful, providing us with information about how to use the public transport system and where to eat in the evenings. The hotel is currently being refurbished but this did not cause us any inconvenience. Our first room was facing the street and when we mentioned that it was a little noisy due to the road being relaid, we were offered an alternative room immediately and given assistance to move rooms. The rooms are cleaned to a high standard, the beds confortable and the linen fresh. It helped that we had a travel kettle with us as we could make our own hot drinks as and when we liked. The breakfast was good, the dining room small but clean with space to sit outside in good weather, There is a small Spa supermarket just around the corner that is handy for bottled water, fruit etc.

We stayed at the Domus Romana for two nights mid March and were pleased with our choice. The hotel is quite central and is handy for walking around the sights. Walking is probably the best way to get around Rome from here as the buses are usually quite crowded and when using the Metro you miss out so much. Be prepared for sore feet and legs if you don't have good walking shoes!
The hotel receptionists were very polite and efficient. We put our luggage into the small luggage deposit as soon as we arrived and set out to see the sights. There are a lot of good eating places nearby so we were glad that the hotel does not offer half board. The continental breakfast was OK.
The room was clean and comfortable with Sky TV [not much in English - but this didn't matter] . It did get very warm at night even with the window open so I presume that it could be quite unpleasant in the heat of summer. Having the window open let in a bit of city noise but the traffic didn't get moving until about 7.30am so this wasn't a problem.
Out and about around Rome, there is so much too see. The Coleseum is a must do. Don't worry about the big queue's as they move quite quickly. If you have children they can get reduced entry fees to the attractions but you must have ID [passport etc.] to prove their age. There are hundreds of guides vieing for your attention - wanting around 10 euros per person to take you around [we made our own way quite easily!] All the main historical sites are busy with street vendors pushing cheap rubbish at you and get tiresome after a while.
Don't miss the ice creams - they are really very good!
Also be aware that drinks etc; from the street vendor vans are very expensive [ 4 euros for a small bottle of Fanta!] but this could be expected in a capital city like Rome.
We have a guide book with us but rarely used it. The hotel provided a map that was a lot more use. Having a wander about and not sticking to a planned route makes for a much more relaxed visit.
All in all then, a good hotel in a good position and ideal for a short city break.
