We booked this hotel through a conference web site at conference negotiated rates. We looked up the review on Tripadvisor before leaving and set our expectations low. We figured hotels in Europe wont be as spacious as the ones in the US.

To start with, I found out just now that the prices are actually higher than the regular hotel prices. grrr ...

ok, we arrived at mid night after a long flight from the US. The hotel reception was staffed but neither of them even smiled or welcomed us not offered us a glass of water. Very impolite and rude. He gave us the keys and he said go out this door, there are four buildings and your room is on the second floor. It was totally dark outside, limited lighting and he didnt even tell us which building had the room. So we dragged our bags through gravel and we could not find the room. I had to come back to the reception and ask him and he still didnt offer a good response or offer to come show us the room. Finally we located the right building and the room was on the second floor. Here is the best part - no elevators. I had to drag up 4 bags two floors.

The room is very small, very congested, one small cupboard, one tiny safe, one bed, one 14" stone age tv with about 10 channels, all Italian and one channel shows English movies if you are lucky enough to catch them.

The bathroom was spacious considering the room. But the shower is only 3ft by 3ft with a very bad shower head. One person cannot even fit properly in the shower forget taking a proper bath.

There is a tiny fridge under the table. There is a table with no chair. A mirror on the inside of the cupboard door. If two persons take the room, only one person can stand at any given time and once you open your bage, you cant open the door. The door has no dead bolt from inside. The house keeping people can come in any time they want.

There was a breakfast included. It is the same breakfast every single day. (Bad) scrambled eggs, fruits (peach, prunes, pineapple) in syrup (isnt Italy known for fresh ingredients?), coffee, juice from a machine, bread, corn flakes, croissants, bacon, sausages, yogurt. Every single day .... same breakfast. I stopped going for breakfast from the third day.

There is a restaurant that is open till 10:30 PM, what no one tells you is that you need to tell the manager in advance (in the morning) that you plan to have dinner in the restaurant. Or else, you don't get any food. And they will honor your request only if you are a large group. They have an arrangement with a out side restaurant. If you want to eat, you call up the reception and they will inform the restaurant, the restaurant will send a car to pick you up and drop you back. That restaurant was good.

The hotel is on a bus route but dont expect to find busses late in the evening. Its easy to spend time roaming in Rome and when its time to go back, most of the days we had to walk back from the nearest Metro station, about 2 or 2.5 KMs on a dark street with little or no side walk back to the hotel. And this was at 11, 11:30 in the night.

Airport to hotel costs Euro 40-45 by taxi, but hotel charges you Euro 60. They will call you a taxi if you like. Their taxi provider does not accept credit cards.

The hotel staff was not very friendly, especially the reception staff. The house keeping was good. No matter what time you leave the room, by the time you get back, the room is made. Remember to leave them a good tip.

There is a bar with almost anything you want to drink. They have limited sandwiches and pizzas. So if you do come back after 10 PM and hope to have food - the restaurant wont serve you anything, the bar has nothing but drinks. You are stuck with a vending machine that has chips and snacks and the machine does not give you change back. there is no sign to that effect any where near the machine or the hotel. And the machine takes only coins. So, where would you go looking for coins?

Over all, very bad experience, bad hotel, horrible shower, bad staff, very unfriendly reception, they dont help in anyway and they think they are doing you a favor by letting to stay there.

You will notice though that the place is always busy. I found out later that this hotel is popular for trip managers, excursions and the like. Obviously, explains their behavior ... no one cares about who is going to return. The trip manager have a deal with the hotel and will continue to bring people. And who ever is in an organized trip, almost always is less concerned about the accommodations. Crappy hotel!

No free internet. Euro 5 for 1 hr, 15 for day, 24 for 3 days.

Stayed here for a couple of days. A bit out of town but the bus stop is just outside with very regular service to the centre of Rome (4 euros for unlimited all day travel) The hotel is clean and functional; an adequate 3 star. Breakfast was fine but the evening meal was poor so don't bother with half board.

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in! The hotel was really far from the nearest metro station and it didn't help that I was dragging my luggage and hand carry and maneuvering through the narrow and rough pavements to the hotel. My luggage was also torn in the process. The outer fabric was cut by broken glass I believe. My heart did bleed as the samsonite luggage is definitely not cheap. However, only the outer layer was damage and fabric was left hanging. I had to cut off the dangling part to prevent rubbish and more broken glass to be trapped and cause further damage to my luggage.

Not only this. The hotel was built on top of a slope. When I reached the hotel entrance, the counter staff could actually see me lugging my luggage and panting away. NONE of them offered to help or even pretended to! Neither did they help to open the door for me. I don't think its too much to ask of the counter staff. Perhaps they were all blind or trying their best to be blind.

The hotel room was pathetic. It was so small and narrow that I had to walk sideways to get to the other side of the bed from the door. Before entering the room, weird smells from cleaning agents could be smell throughout the corridor. Upon entering, i discovered that there was no space to put my 29 inch luggage. I had to leave it on the floor and hope that I don't trip over it in the middle of the night when I go to the bathroom, killing myself by colliding into the wall or falling out of the window in the process.

The bathroom leaked. The walls seem to be leaking. Each day I would come back to a mini swimming pool when I vividly remember leaving the bathroom dry before I went out for sightseeing.

I didn't attempt getting internet access as it was really expensive. 5 euros for an hour if I remember correctly. Nothing short of daylight robbery.

I strongly advise anyone from going to this hotel EVER! Spend more money on better hotels that are downtown. At least a hotel whose staff do not pretend to be blind and not even pretend to see guests struggling with their luggage.

I really wish I had read these reviews before staying at this hotel. Bad service from reception, small rooms( so small there was no where for our luggage except in front of the bathroom door), small shower, stinking hot room, and the air con did not work. Had to sleep with window open. Luckily we were only there for a few hours. Good breakfast though, even though they seemed to have trouble keeping up with demand.

When we checked in we got the creeps. The rooms were dirty, stuffy and impossibly small and the corridors suffocatingly narrow. All this one could bear, were it not for the fact that the hotel felt desperately unsafe. Even though we had pre-paid, we immediately left and spent the night on a relative's sofa. This was a wise move as when we returned in the morning to pick up our bags there was a Police Officer in the lobby taking a statement from a guest who was robbed to the tune of $600, a camera / video camera and a passport. Whatever you do, don't stay here!
P.S. You can stay in much nicer and safer places for the same price, just do some more research!
