We came with high hopes and were not disappointed. Everything was perfect - the hotel itself, spacious room, beautiful big and clean bathroom, unbeattable location and extremely helpful staff, even more than in 5 star hotels we've stayed in! Breakfaast was wonderful, with excellent coffee, not just the plain machine coffee, but selection of cappucinos, cafee lattes etc.
Also, hotel has a private guarded garage which was very important to us.
Our only regret is that we forgot to leave the tip for the staff - one more reason to come back!

We stayed end of april in this Hotel. They have rooms for four persons. Two luxuryous kingsize double beds. A good length for long persons. Very clean rooms and helpfull staff, marvelous breakfast buffet, a treatment for the day. You can order a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. It is adviseble to do so instead of taking the subway and train. One feature that amazed us was a cityplan that was given to us whenever you had a question of a specific site by the hotel frontoffice.
A splendid location to start a citytrip and explore the ancient sites of Rome. Just opposit the entrance of the Vatican museum. You can see the queues of people waiting there.

We were delighted with this hotel. Great service from the time we emailed to book the shuttle bus to the minute we checked out. Friendly staff, good rooms, excellent breakfast and good location for the Vatican and St. Peter's. Close to bus and metro stops so we could get across the river easily to the other main attractions. Reception booked tickets for us and gave us good advice when we asked for it. Would recommend it absolutely.

This is a nice, clean hotel. It is located right across the street from the Vatican Museum and within walking distance of St Peters. It's not really near any other of the main tourist attractions, and you'll need to travel by metro / subway to get to the other sights.
It can be a bit noisy, I dont thinks the rooms are sound proofed and the hallways are not carpeted.
The breakfast is good, and there was a good selection.
This is a nice city hotel.

The four star Hotel Alimandi Vaticano is one of three hotels in Rome run by the Alimandi family. Opened in 2002, it is located right across the street from the Vatican Museum. It's not really near any other of the main tourist attractions, but there are two metro stations a couple blocks away, Cipro "Musei vaticani" and Ottaviano "San Pietro".

Each of the front desk staff were truly helpful and willing to give suggestions and directions. When we checked in, they offered to help with our bags and asked if we needed any suggestions for anything. We checked in around 2pm, and the girl told us that was a really good time to go to the Vatican Museum since there was a barely any line, so we went. Every morning there were lines all the way around the block. They also gave as their card and told us to call them if we needed anything at all while we were out.

The room was average size and the bathroom was fairly big. The rooms have a mini bar, safe, free DSL internet, direct dial phone and a desk. One major problem we had was that the rooms were not sound proof at all, and the hallways were not carpeted. We were unfortunately on the same floor as a family (or two families traveling together) that had at least three other rooms on the floor and just had to walk (loudly!) from room to room, talking (loudly!) at all hours of early morning and as late as midnight! I know this is not the fault of the hotel (and I did ask these people numerous times to quiet down, and they didn't), but if you are light sleeper I strongly suggest earplugs.

There was a huge selection at breakfast. It was the biggest one I saw anywhere in Italy. There was all of the traditional pastries, fruit, meat and cheeses and bread, but then there was also bacon and eggs, sausages, and even scalloped potatoes. The breakfast staff were also pleasant.

The elevator is big by European standards, but there are not too many stairs between floors.

We paid 200 Euro a night.
