“Hot and sweaty but cheap”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2012

This hostel is just five minutes walk from Rome Termini Station, ideal location, close to subway. Rooms are very basic, beds are quite comfy with very secure lockers under the beds. Shower rooms are shared between a floor, they were extremely dirty, full of hair and grime when i used them on every occassion. Dorms were hot and stuffy, with just one small fan to cool the whole 7 bed room. Was very hard to sleep at night as it was so sweaty. Internet access is available for free for a limited time per person. You may have to wait a long time to get to use it though. The bar downstairs is a great place to meet people and if you pick up a map from reception on arrival, theres lots of discount vouchers and coupons for use across the city. Would stay here again at a push, maybe try somewhere different first.

The hostel is advertised as a party hostel, which led to a bit of disappointment with their small bar, 10 am check out time, and lack of facilities. There is no kitchen.
However, the hostel is minutes from pizza, laundry, grocery store, and the train/metro station. They also have iPads and a computer available for usage!
The staff is great!

Room Tip: The first floor dorms still get a bar or two of wifi.

Brilliant Stay, made so many friends and really helpful staff! The bar is fab, games always on the go. Breakfast is a yummy start to the day. Felt safe and secure, really well located too! Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Although the big mixed rooms are they cheapest, if its a good night sleep you want go for a smaller...

The Yellow is a really good hostel, one of the best I have stayed in (and I have stayed in many before). The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and decent sized. The 9-bedroom ensuite was amazing, with a kitchen as well which was really useful!
The drinks are really cheap, the bar and downstairs area are great for meeting people, free use of ipads is really useful, and you also get a free drink on arrival (I advise getting the drink called 'Beverly hills iced tea'- try it and you'll see why)

The hostel is also really close to the main Termini train station, and nowhere is that far to walk in Rome!

Room Tip: The 9 bedroom ensuite is one of the better ones (has own shower/toilet and a kitchen as well)

We had an amazing stay at The Yellow. It was clean, had friendly, helpful staff and a great atmosphere. Location is good too - only a 10 minute walk from Termini station. The bar downstairs is cheap and provides a fun nightlife! We would definitely stay again.

Location wise this is nice place. Termini railway station and a metro station very close to the hostel. Nightlife at the hostel is good but absence of kitchen does not give you the complete feel of a hostel. a pizzaria around the corner is the best bet for budget meals. Staff cheerful and ready to help. plus points, free ipad for 30 mins (please increase that for an hour), spacious, neat and clean rooms. Negative points, no hangers in bathrooms, no wifi in rooms (wifi only in the bar).

The Yellow is, beyond the shadow of a doubt, an amazing place to stay if you are planning to stay a few days in Rome. The hostel is conveniently located just five blocks away from Termini Station, within a very nice zone surrounded by numerous restaurants and eating houses where you can try delicious Italian dishes. I would like to thank the whole staff at the Yellow for the outstanding time I had, and especial thanks to Eva and Sanna for their great disposition and kindness. Keep it up guys!
