Location, location - a few blocks from the Statione Terminale - where the Metro lines connect, inter city trains depart/arrive, you can even catch a train to the airport from here.

The room - cheaply furnished. Frankly, the worst of the rooms we had in seven cities in Europe but it did have a window. If you can find something better for the same price in the neighbourhood, take it.

Pleanty of places to eat nearby. A so-so Continental Breakfast is included.

Take the hop-on hop-off bus once and then take the bus/metro everywhere. Do eat some pizza and gelato - even if you get sick of it after a while - you wont get anything like it in the States.

An OK deal, but only because it's in expensive Rome

Stayed here just one night as had to get early Terravision bus from Termini to Rome Ciampino Airport.
Room not very clean. Crumbs on carpet and cigarette ash on a chair. Bed was clean though and I also had a good shower.
Sparse room. No TV remote controller so couldn't use TV. Don't stay here unless for early travelling the next day or you're skint.
The day staff are great (I booked 3 days ahead by just walking in)but when I arrived at 9p.m a different lady couldn't find my booking for 5 minutes.
As Rome hotels are very expensive and this was just 60 Euros for a single room and in an OK, safe, convenient location it's acceptable.
I suggest though, that if you're going to stay in this great city, pay up and stay somewhere better.

This is not all it's cracked up to be. Yes it's clean but that's all. With tiled floors and no double glazing it is noisey especially at the rear. You can even hear the coffee maker being used at breakfast time. In general it lacks facilities. No international satellite TV, no safe, no fridge and the only power point was more than 2m above the floor. If all else fails stay there but there has to be better value.

I recently stayed 5 nights at the Hotel Continentale in Rome. This hotel is a real find and far better than the previous reviews will lead you to believe. For anyone wanting a mid-range hotel in the centre of Rome then choose the Continentale. You'll be lucky to find anywhere better value for money in the whole of Rome.
Although only 5 minutes from the Termini station it is actually in a very good neighbourhood, very quiet and with lots of restaurants close by. Never once did we feel unsafe, even at night. It also makes it easy to get around Rome as you have the train, metro and buses just 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy, and the bathrooms are small but well kept and have complimentary toiletries that are replaced each day. I had a balcony that looked over onto the interior courtyard where I could sit and read and plan the next day’s activities.

Breakfast was your standard buffet continental affair with a great coffee machine and a selection of croissants. The breakfast room also doubles as a bar and the hotel staff really will serve you 24/7, even opening the room just for you.

By far the most important aspect of this hotel is the staff. They are welcoming and friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The girl on reception through the day is wonderfully helpful. I never got her name but you’ll know who I mean the instant you meet her. She will give you maps and directions, make reservations for museums (Borghese) and restaurants. She knows all the best places to eat at exceptionally good value for money. Almost ever night we had a different restaurant recommendation and they were all superb.

For all round value for money you will not get anything better in this price range in the whole of Rome. Don’t let the 2 stars put you off as many 3 star hotels in Rome don’t offer this level of commitment and service.

I look forward to returning again next year.

Although the room and bathroom were quite small, the beds were very comfortable, the water was hot and everything was spotless. The folks at the front desk were so kind and helpful, even calling to arrange a tour of Rome for us.
The hotel is on a fairly quiet street. There is a great little ristorante across the street which caused some noise, but earplugs are a must anywhere in Rome!
The hotel is a five minute walk to the termini station, very easy. I would definitely stay there again.
