I stayed in this camping site for 6 nights with my husband and a friend of ours. We enjoyed staying in a bungalow with private facility, no a/c. It does not locate in the centre of the city, but easy to access once you learn how to using bus 246 and 247. There is a bus from Fiumincino Airport to the very close point to the camping site. lean bed sheets, pillow provided. Hot water 24h. It was noisy in some evenings, but considering the price of the accommodation, it is alright. There are supermarket, restaurant+pizzeria, bar, and a swimming pool at the site. There is a big supermarket opposit side of the camping site as well. We enjoyed good and reasonable priced food at the restaurant. If we will ever go to Rome, we will stay in this camping site again.

The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The facilities (pool, restaurant and bar) were great.

It was very noisy at night - I had to use earplugs.

We were starting a tour from here and reception really mucked us around, giving us wrong information so that we missed the start of our tour. But I don't know whether that was the fault of Topdeck tours (not good by the way) or Camping Roma.

It is quite a trip from the sights in Roma too.

Website was misleading and had to take a bus to get there, as the shuttle wasn't working. Went with a group or I don't know if I would have made it there.

I thought I'd booked a bungalo and got a tent. Didn't leave valuables in the room. It was nice. Weather was nice and warm. Luckily not too hot or cold, as it was a tent. Bed was nice and I had my own tent.

There was a grocery store across the road (ramp over main road) which had fresh baked goods and loads of nice produce. Ate there a lot.

I booked it because I wasn't sure what to expect. It was 2 night and fun. Was able to figure out the bus system, which took awhile but wasn't bad. Next time I'll pay more and stay in the city.

I had a good holiday at the campsite. The staffs were friendly and nice. The bungalow where we lived was good, but there was a bit of dirt in the bungalow at arrival; some of the bed linen was wet and damp and the shower was not okay. I have difficulty with at regulate the water temperature in the shower.

  • Liked — We made us comfortable every evening at the terrace of the campsite.
  • Disliked — On my arrival was some of the bed linen damp and wet.

Camping Roma was OK for me and my husband. We had the 2/3 person bungalow for a week, and it was just fine for us, nice to have a private bathroom. Walls are thin, so you hear everything (especially the very large groups of teens who were staying around us and having a great time hanging out late at night outside).

The actual facilities on the campsite were pretty great - pool, bar, restaurant, small supermarket, laundry (€3.50 to wash and another €3.50 to dry), and internet. There was no wireless computer access, and using their computers was a bit pricey - something like €2 for 15 minutes, I would recommend just using one of the internet points by the Metro stop, way cheaper. The information desk was helpful, though, and all the staff we encountered was friendly. Across the street was a pretty good-sized supermarket.

The main problem with this place: location. Even though it's geographically very close to the city, logistically it's a nightmare. You have to take the Metro to get out to the area, but the metro line currently closes at 9pm, which means you need to take a supplementary MetroBus. Then you need a separate bus to get to the campsite, and these buses seem to come only when it really wants to (in one case, never). For people like us who don't mind walking, this wouldn't be a problem, since the campsite is fairly close to the metro stop. However, the camp is located along a massive highway with no shoulder and traffic at full speed. So walking is literally impossible. Recommendation - don't stay here if you plan to stay out late, unless you like taxis.

In terms of safety, it seemed like any typical urban area. Don't look like an idiotic tourist, be aware of your personal safety, and you should be fine.

  • Liked — price, services on the campsite, private accommodations
