Stayed here for five nights in May there were twoadults and three children. The accomodation looked more like a porta cabin and was not big enough to accomodate all of us. In the kitchen area you could make up an extra bed but it was so uncomfortable you couldnt possibly sleep on it! So i ended up sleeping with my two sons age 13 and 9 in a double bed which was far from ideal especially as there was no air con. The beds and pillows are also extremely uncomfortable. Not far away from us but not on the site there was a Romanian disco that went on from 11-4am every night, for three whole nights I did not have a wink of sleep because of the noise. I complained twice but they said they could not move us because there was nothing else available! Also one of the bathrooms smelled strongly of sewerage, and there were marks all over the walls and chips in the tiles in the bathroom. The only thing that I would recommend about Flaminio Village is the pool which the kids loved(apart from the hats they were made to wear costing 2euros each!) The food and drinks here are very overpriced, for example we had a meal on the first night in the restaurant, and one round of soft drinks(we choose the cheapest food on the menu and it came to 74euros!)
Would definitely not recommend this place and would definitely not come again! Loved Rome and Pompeii though!

I booked this venue through Last Minute, it was absolutely terrible. My brother and i arrived at 10.30pm at night (it was also raining), the Cab dropped us to the front gate and we checked in, only to have to walk at least 10 minutes to our cabin through the pouring rain. On getting into our cabin we found the bedding was not clean and had not been changed. We couldn't call because there was no telephone. We had initially booked for 4 nights but checked out the next morning. I couldn't sleep on a bed because of the conditions and just spent my night on the sofa, my brother slept on top of the bed. The toilet had a broken lid . It was disgusting to say the least. We asked for a refund but i was told i had to go through Last Minute, which i did and still haven't heard back from them.
I've stayed in some expensive and cheap accomodation over the years, i don't mind particularly where i sleep as long as it is clean, this was no where near that expectation, and i wouldn't recommend it to keep my dog.

We booked a week at the Village Flaminio based on its 4 Star rating on an airline's hotel booking facility. I was very disappointed but to be fair to them, that's because I did not have my expectations set out clearly in advance.

Village Flaminio is a campsite. Not a holiday resort per se, but a place to pitch your tent, park your caravan or in our case, rent a chalet. The chalet itself was fine, if basic. I had thought, based on descriptions that I had read on the website I booked it through, that we were staying in a complex that had a series of little villas or bungalows, similar to self catering apartments you might seen in sun holiday resorts.

The 10 minute walk to the chalet from reception, unguided and in the dark, was very much unexpected. The fact that we didn't have a linen change and had to pay for clean towels (despite the duration of our break) struck us as extremely unusual.

Also, some websites indicate that the village is close to Rome. Well, it is and it isn't. If you don't mind getting a train or bus to and from Rome, then it's not too bad. Beware though that the train stops at 22.40 and you have to do a lot of hopping on and off buses to get the night bus back to the complex, which means you might find yourself failing to experience Rome at night. However, a taxi will cost €15 to get to and from the complex if you don't mind paying that.

If you get the train, you need to request that they stop at your station, Due Ponti. Due Ponti is incredibly dirty, with rubbish and used condoms scattered about in the station. The sign for the station is obscured by graffiti, and when we were traveling in the evening, it was dark and difficult to see out through the windows. What we found ourselves doing was waiting until we crossed the river, which was still visible even in the dark, and passed the first stop after it, before pressing the bell to request the Due Ponti stop. It's a pretty foolproof way of getting the driver to stop at the right station.

Breakfast was free and had a selection of breads, pastries, fruit salad, yoghurt, meats and cheeses, juice and a coffee machine. It was pretty good.

The one thing about Village Flaminio that was absolutely excellent was the restaurant. The food was divine, and the service was absolutely the best we go in all of Italy, or possibly in any restaurant. The food is expertly cooked, very affordably priced and served with care and consummate professionalism. The restaurant was called Ottavo colle.

All in all, once you know what you're letting yourself in for, it's fine. At the very least, you can expect some excellent (affordable!) dining.

Though this was the cheapest accommodation listed with flight package through my internet search I would still expect things to be as advertised on their website or rectified if not. The main thing I am referring to is access to WIFI. They state that all rooms have access to the WiFi signal but my room and another guests room, (whom I spoke to) definately do not, so I assume many do not. I am therefore sitting outside near the bar typing this as they would not let me sit in the breakfast room near the restaurant even though there are 2 people in their using their laptops. When I asked why they are allowed to sit in there the waiter said that that was his boss and that "this is a restaurant not an internet point" even though I wanted to use the other room next to the restaurant. I will not be eating at the restaurant for the rest of my stay that is for sure. Even after I explained that the internet signal is not getting to the room as advertised he still did not care.

As for the rest it is not too bad a place to stay as long as you get a deal through one of those travel websites and definately do not pay full price.
Good points:
- Can take the train straight to Flaminio from which you can walk or take the Metro (underground/subway) to get to the attractions.
-Breakfast included and is adequate though the coffee is nasty and the milk tasted as if it had gone off this morning. Spam, cheese, toast and boiled eggs were ok.
-Rooms are well furnished and the shower in my room worked real well. I was in a bungalow venezia.

Bad points
-Difficult to find when first arriving
-Poor customer service
-No WiFi in rooms as advertised, you have to sit outside the bar/restaurant as they will not let you sit in an empty room!!!!!! Thank god it is not too cold or raining right now!!!!!
-Have to walk up steep hill to breakfast room/bar or restaurant so not for the elderly or hard of walking.
-At least a 5 minute walk to your room from the main gate
-Bar never open when I was there
-Restaurant staff rude (on one occasion to me as described above)
-only one English channel on tv (that I could find)and that was CNN.
-tv picture quality terrible.
-rooms are not made everyday so you do not get fresh towels or more toilette paper (I assume you would have to ask for these)
-dogs barking but I cannot hear them from my room only when I walk to the front reception.

We are a very well-travelled family of four. During our recent 2-month tour of Europe we wanted self-catering accommodation close to Rome. The Flaminio Village advertise a range of apartments described on their website as “large roomy illuminated bungalows” - what rubbish! We paid a premium price to stay in a 2 bedroom “Ischia” apartment. What we actually got was a small, cramped porta cabin that was hardly big enough to swing a cat. The kitchen, described as being a “full kitchen” on the website was anything but. There was no oven, no kettle, no toaster, no dishwasher (not even detergent, pot scrubber or tea towel). Campground management were unsympathetic to our concerns and retained our 200 Euro deposit despite us leaving after only one night. The website misrepresents the facilities and the bungalow accommodation is extremely poor value for money. We would never choose to stay here again.
