Though this was the cheapest accommodation listed with flight package through my internet search I would still expect things to be as advertised on their website or rectified if not. The main thing I am referring to is access to WIFI. They state that all rooms have access to the WiFi signal but my room and another guests room, (whom I spoke to) definately do not, so I assume many do not. I am therefore sitting outside near the bar typing this as they would not let me sit in the breakfast room near the restaurant even though there are 2 people in their using their laptops. When I asked why they are allowed to sit in there the waiter said that that was his boss and that "this is a restaurant not an internet point" even though I wanted to use the other room next to the restaurant. I will not be eating at the restaurant for the rest of my stay that is for sure. Even after I explained that the internet signal is not getting to the room as advertised he still did not care.

As for the rest it is not too bad a place to stay as long as you get a deal through one of those travel websites and definately do not pay full price.
Good points:
- Can take the train straight to Flaminio from which you can walk or take the Metro (underground/subway) to get to the attractions.
-Breakfast included and is adequate though the coffee is nasty and the milk tasted as if it had gone off this morning. Spam, cheese, toast and boiled eggs were ok.
-Rooms are well furnished and the shower in my room worked real well. I was in a bungalow venezia.

Bad points
-Difficult to find when first arriving
-Poor customer service
-No WiFi in rooms as advertised, you have to sit outside the bar/restaurant as they will not let you sit in an empty room!!!!!! Thank god it is not too cold or raining right now!!!!!
-Have to walk up steep hill to breakfast room/bar or restaurant so not for the elderly or hard of walking.
-At least a 5 minute walk to your room from the main gate
-Bar never open when I was there
-Restaurant staff rude (on one occasion to me as described above)
-only one English channel on tv (that I could find)and that was CNN.
-tv picture quality terrible.
-rooms are not made everyday so you do not get fresh towels or more toilette paper (I assume you would have to ask for these)
-dogs barking but I cannot hear them from my room only when I walk to the front reception.

We are a very well-travelled family of four. During our recent 2-month tour of Europe we wanted self-catering accommodation close to Rome. The Flaminio Village advertise a range of apartments described on their website as “large roomy illuminated bungalows” - what rubbish! We paid a premium price to stay in a 2 bedroom “Ischia” apartment. What we actually got was a small, cramped porta cabin that was hardly big enough to swing a cat. The kitchen, described as being a “full kitchen” on the website was anything but. There was no oven, no kettle, no toaster, no dishwasher (not even detergent, pot scrubber or tea towel). Campground management were unsympathetic to our concerns and retained our 200 Euro deposit despite us leaving after only one night. The website misrepresents the facilities and the bungalow accommodation is extremely poor value for money. We would never choose to stay here again.

We checked out of this hotel 10 minutes after checking in! After almost 2 hours travelling on public transport (i do not recommend getting the bus, it drove straight past the place, we had to cross a dangerous dual carriageway to get on other side to catch bus back) we left our bags as we couldnt check in and wandered round rome. that is after we caught the train from near the flaminio village. after crossing a life threatening dual carriageway again and walking down it, with no pavement. The train station is AWFUL, lots of rome is covered in grafiti bu this take the biscuit! the train is filfthy and feels extremely scary especially when carrying bags and cameras, i felt we would be robbed at anytime! it was even worse on the way back in the dark. we got back to the flamino village and checked in. the room was basically a plastic box, the toilet was filthy with something awful all down the back of it, the shower door was broken and the shower was covered in black mildew. there was no way i could stay there, especially for my birthday treat! we decided to ring home to the UK to try and find another hotel. we hated it that much we didnt even wait til we had found one we just left, after walking 15minutes back to reception, we checked out. it was that bad we didnt even ask for a refund there as it was dark and we had to do the awful journey on the train again, so we had to claim our money back when we got home. luckily as we arrived in the centre of rome my mother had booked us papa vistarelais a beautiful hotel, but cost us an extra £250 which we didnt have but had no choice. I would recommend paying a bit more and NOT staying at Flaminio village, this spoilt our day. a filthy place and no where near centre of rome like it says.

Arrived at 2230 at night and took bus to Via Flaminio as per HRS address - turns out the real address is Via Flaminio Nuovo. Walking from one to the other involved trudging with suitcases for over 45 minutes across a dual carriageway with no footpaths. Thought we were going to die for sure!

On getting there, things did not get any better. The staff ranged from lukewarm to rude and our "bungalow" was a glorified caravan, so small that you could barely move around. No cleaning occurs unless you stay over 7 days. The shower was OK but the hot water temperamental. There is no phone to contact reception incase of problems so you are up for the 30 min return trip each time. The courtesy bus does not run in Winter, so it wasn't particularly courteous for us.

The distances within the complex were considerable and involved walking 10-15 minutes to our bungalow. The trains also stop running after 2230 making forward thinking necessary. It does not stop at Due Ponti unless you request it, and some don't stop at all so check first.

The breakfast was average and thinned out towards 9-10am. Otherwise it was acceptable.

Overall, if you are looking for a campsite and are happy to spend time inside the complex; then this may be the place for you. But if you intend to use it as a base for exploring Rome; look elsewhere!! Believe me, it might seem like a good deal but the annoyance of all the above added up to more than it was worth for us.

In view of previous reviews i have read i was concerned about stopping at flaminio - why i was i don't know. the staff were very friendly and helpful. even though there was a shower in our accommodation, the shower block was unbelievable - tiled from top to bottom, under floor heating, power showers and classical music playing - so relaxing. it is a couple of bus journey's from the centre of rome but you get to experience something different and special. it is one train journey from the Spanish Steps. included in the price was breakfast which was plentiful and set you on your way for the day. if you need transfers from the airports you have to pay but that is minimal.it was a very enjoyable experience and i and my friends would definitely go there again. Just make note that there is a good shopping complex across the road from the camp site with a large supermarket, pharmacy etc. PS the dogs you may have read about previously are not that bad and don't really disturb you.Godere il vostro tempo a Flaminio!
