Arrived at 2230 at night and took bus to Via Flaminio as per HRS address - turns out the real address is Via Flaminio Nuovo. Walking from one to the other involved trudging with suitcases for over 45 minutes across a dual carriageway with no footpaths. Thought we were going to die for sure!
On getting there, things did not get any better. The staff ranged from lukewarm to rude and our "bungalow" was a glorified caravan, so small that you could barely move around. No cleaning occurs unless you stay over 7 days. The shower was OK but the hot water temperamental. There is no phone to contact reception incase of problems so you are up for the 30 min return trip each time. The courtesy bus does not run in Winter, so it wasn't particularly courteous for us.
The distances within the complex were considerable and involved walking 10-15 minutes to our bungalow. The trains also stop running after 2230 making forward thinking necessary. It does not stop at Due Ponti unless you request it, and some don't stop at all so check first.
The breakfast was average and thinned out towards 9-10am. Otherwise it was acceptable.
Overall, if you are looking for a campsite and are happy to spend time inside the complex; then this may be the place for you. But if you intend to use it as a base for exploring Rome; look elsewhere!! Believe me, it might seem like a good deal but the annoyance of all the above added up to more than it was worth for us.
