In view of previous reviews i have read i was concerned about stopping at flaminio - why i was i don't know. the staff were very friendly and helpful. even though there was a shower in our accommodation, the shower block was unbelievable - tiled from top to bottom, under floor heating, power showers and classical music playing - so relaxing. it is a couple of bus journey's from the centre of rome but you get to experience something different and special. it is one train journey from the Spanish Steps. included in the price was breakfast which was plentiful and set you on your way for the day. if you need transfers from the airports you have to pay but that is minimal.it was a very enjoyable experience and i and my friends would definitely go there again. Just make note that there is a good shopping complex across the road from the camp site with a large supermarket, pharmacy etc. PS the dogs you may have read about previously are not that bad and don't really disturb you.Godere il vostro tempo a Flaminio!

This is a campingsite which we found through the ''Campingcheque system'' . This means that for € 14.00 during low season you can spend the night there.
Simple, but nice bar and shop. Excellent Restaurant. Sanitary facilities we have never seen before, including classical music.
Easy access to Rome through public transport ( every 15 minutes)
Want to see Rome at a reasonable price, go there.

this place would be so much better if it wasn't for its location. you have to get off the overground at due ponti, a station that looks like it's abandoned. we couldn't even see the station sign as there was so much graffiti covering it. you also have to request the train to stop here and we weren't told about that so be careful if you're arriving at night. crossing the roads is dangerous as there's no real pavement and it's a busy road you walking along. other than that the bungalow was lovely with a free minibar and a nice clean room. i felt like it wasn't a 4* experience but it was enjoyable. i think it's a little too far out of Rome for you to come back and change before dinner as the last train to due ponti is at 22:40.

I spent my summer holiday in Rome, because is my favourite city and I think Flaminio Village is the right solution to visit Rome, to spend little money and to relax your self: there is a big pool and you have a free cocktail at your arrival.
The staff is very kind and funny.

Despite being slightly apprehensive after reading a few dodgy reviews on this and other websites, me and my other half thought it was fantastic.

We stayed in one of the Firenze cabins, which are the most basic and cheapest, and we loved it. It was a bit small, but was clean, had air con, a fridge and a nice bathroom with a big shower and was in a really nice setting, with the pool and adjoining bar literally a minute walk away.

The facilities are excellent, with a cheap shop selling all the essentials, a lovely restaraunt with high quality food and a nice pool and bar area.

On the whole the staff were great. The man and woman who run the bar at the pool were brilliant, the staff in the restaraunt and shop were all friendly and helpful and the fella who looks like the actor Cheech Marin out of Cheech and Chong was a proper top lad, always happy to give us a lift in the golf buggy and a really helpful source of info for public transport and good places to visit. Found that the majority ladies who worked in the Reception (bar one who was great) were all a bit unhelpful and generally unenthusiastic though.

In terms of location, the nearby train station at Due Point is a 10 minute train ride from Flaminio station, which is an ideal point to explore Rome from as it's on the Metro line and also within walking distance of the very centre of Rome and most of the main sights. Only downside is that the Village is on a main road with no pavement so you have to cross a couple of quite busy dual carriageways to get to the station but once you know where you're going it's fairly straightforward.

In all we thought it was fantastic. Unlike staying in a hotel in the centre of Rome you could quite easily spend a day or two without leaving the Village and not get bored as the pool's great, there's plenty of places to sunbathe or have a kickabout with a footy, a big screen in the bar and a couple of different places to drink and eat. The highest praise I can give it is I wish we could have stayed longer than 4 days and if I ever go back to Rome I'd stay there again.
