Just came back from a 4 night stay at Montecitorio. The location was great, within 5-10 minute walk of Trevi fountain, Spanish steps (Spagna Metro station), Pantheon and Piazza Navona. We had a quad and it was on the small side. The bathroom was OK. The room was cleaned everyday. We had a room that was on the side of the street, so you can hear the noise from traffic at night.
Guisseppe, who covers the night shift was really nice, and explained to us the best way to get to the different sites. He even recommended pizzerias and restaurants around the area. There is a piazza, a block away where you can take bus #62 to get to the Vatican. You can also catch a cab from there, back to the airport. It's only 40 Eur.
Breakfast was not included in our stay. This however, was not a problem, since there is a cafe next to the piazza. So every morning, we just buy croissants and pastries before we hit the road.
The location feel safe even past midnight.
The nice thing about the hotel is the free internet access via a provided laptop in the room. There is also a 46" plasma TV, and safe. The bad thing about the place is the free internet, because my teenage kids just wanted to get back to the hotel room instead of hanging out late at the Pantheo
n or Trevi. The airconditioner was good enough. The bed was a bit hard but it never bothered us.
Overall, it was a nice experience, and won't hesitate to stay here again.
