This was my first trip to Rome and I could not have chosen accommodation that would have been better located, this B&B was right in the centre of where you need to be.It was difficult to find the B&B as my own and my girlfriend's Italian was practically non existent, all we actually knew was, Hello, Goodbye, Thank You and 2 Beers Please; we were unable to ask for assistance. Domina does not have any signs that you are able to pick out, but I do not see this as a bad point after all it is only a B&B and this is part of the adventure. We were greeted by a very polite gentleman who took our bags and kindly showed us to our rooms. Our plane was delayed and he had to hang around a lot longer for us and this didn't seem to be a issue for him. The B&B is always manned at the front desk. The rooms were very nice but there were a few unusual features, that not all people could live with, but I personally didn’t have a problem. The showers in the room weren’t great but I was able to have a wash so no big problem there. The front desk or reception was right outside your door for 2 of the 3 rooms, which at times felt a bit uncomfortable and I found myself whispering in order not to be heard. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast in the morning was spot on and a good start to the day and again the gentleman who bought the breakfast was very polite, he  couldn’t do enough for you. All in all the stay was pleasant and we did enjoy it! For the money you pay you cant beat the location! If we go again we might try somewhere else but then it would be boring to keep going back to the same place again and again!

This was our second visit to Domina, which is in the same building as Casa Howard on Via Capo le Case. It really is great, huge rooms with a little kitchentte and a table to eat the gorgeous breakfast delivered to your room each morning off.
We had the room on the street-don't worry noise is not a problem- and morning sunlight floods the room.
The hotel is owned by a very glamorous Italian woman, but run by a sweet english speaking Sri Lankan guy. You cannot go past Domina for location and value for money. If, like us, you have bags for Africa and need to spread out and consolidate all that shopping somehow before the journey home, then the space and light here will make you very happy. its the perfect spot to pay that final visit to Trevi and throw in your coins too...you'll want to come back.

Just Back from Rome, Italy

We stayed at the Domina Town House , in the Via Di Capo Le Case, just two minutes walk from the Spanish Steps and five minutes walk from the wonderful Trevi Fountain. The Piazza Navona is in easy reach for lunch.

The accomodation although a little small , was excellent. We could not have been in a better postion for sight seeing. We spent four days in Rome , and walked everywhere from the Domina Town House , even the Vatican City was within walking distance, although not if you are a bit unsure on your legs, as the cobbles do hurt your feet after a while. Hint here is to bring your most comfortable shoes, even the Romans wear comfy shoes !

Our room which included a small kitchen with microwave and fridge was cleaned every day, and the towels and bedding changed.
Each morning the charming Senevi , brought us our breakfast of crossients, french toast , jam, honey, delicious coffee and fruit juice. Senevi could not do enough for us, his aim in life appears to ensure that his guests have a very relaxing holiday.
Other reviews stated that it was odd to have someone sitting outside their room .. It is not really like that , the Domina Town House is a large apartment on one floor of a lovely old building, and the hallway of the floor is where Senevi the concierge has his office. Actually, it made us feel very safe to know that he was there. We shall definitely stay there again, it is a little gem of a place.

My Wife and I stayed here mid-June of 2005 - for three nights. For those confused by the same address as Casa Howard, yes, they are both in the same building. Casa Howard is on the first floor (or in North American terms, the 2nd floor) and Domina Guest House is on the second floor (or 3rd floor in NA terms)

There is a small lift suitable for only luggage - the stairs are very wide, and very easy to climb - not at all steep.

Domina Guest House has two guest rooms (that we saw). You enter a small office-like area where there is the attendant (who is mostly there during the day) We called ahead of time to confirm when we would be arriving, and he was very accomodating. (Speaks very good english for those who don't want to experiment with Italian). Rather than tell us when we could checkin, he asked when we would like to show up. This may just have been luck though - it's possible that there was nobody there the previous night, or that they had chekced out really early.

We stayed in the Room on the left side when you go in. It was done in cream colours and beiges. The bathroom is small, but really quite well finished with top-quality decoration and plumbing. (The walls are something you really have to see - finished in some kind of limestone).

There was a small couch, mostly suitable for putting your luggage on, as the room was very small - there was a small TV with about 10 channels of all-italian content. The room is air conditioned (with remote control) and worked really well. There is a small eating area with a tiny kitchenette - I wouldn't use it myself, as there are tons of really good restaurants within walking distance. The Kitchenette didn't look like it had been used in a long time.. (My wife looked it over and says it was kind of 'yucky')

There is a small window overlooking an inner walkway/alley/courtyard.. nothing to write home about or even take a picture of...

The location is pretty much unbeatable, and is mostly what you are paying for at this hotel.. 5 minutes to the Spanish Steps, 15 minutes walk to the Trevi Fountain, and amazing top-notch shopping right outside your door.
Would I stay here again? - probably not - there's too many good places and different areas of Rome to stay in - it's not that we didn't like it, we just want to try different places.

Three things we didn't like:
1. The office was right outside your door - it was a little strange to be sitting in your room, knowing someone was two feet away doing work.. not very relaxing or private.

2. The bedding coverlet had a stain on it - picky, I know, but I would expect that for the price we paid we would have had better bedding - also there was a storage area right above our bed that made me feel a bit strange.

3. When we ate breakfast the first morning, there were lots of little tiny bugs crawling around the eating area. When we brought it up with the attendant, it was corrected by the time we got back that evening - never saw them again - aparently a pidgeon had nested outside the window, and they had just gotten rid of the nest, so it may have been that..

All-in-all it was worth it if you wanted to be central to everything....
