My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Casa di Serena. The location was great. It is just a short walk from the metro stop and on the corner of a main street with a fountain and piazza nearby to help you find your way. Even though it is on a main street we heard no street traffic from our room and were able to sleep very comfortably.

The B&B is located within walking distance of the Vatican and Vatican museums. Everything else is a metro ride away. By staying here we were more immersed in a true Roman neighborhood rather than a loud, stereotypical tourist area. We had plenty of opportunities to practice our Italian and even went to a local movie theater in the neighborhood one evening. We felt very safe, even strolling around after midnight.

The B&B is gorgeous and cozy. It felt as if we were returning home every evening. It is located in a very well kept and secure apartment building which had an elevator (great for luggage!). We were given keys to the building entrance and to the B&B and came and went as we pleased. The common area has lovely artwork and posh furnishings. Serena is on site in the mornings and she gives you phone numbers and stresses that she is just a phone call away 24 hours a day should you need her. She patiently and accurately answered all our questions and gave us many good tips (like going to the Vatican museums after 1:00 rather than first thing in the morning - there was NO line and to be very mindful of pickpockets on the metro).

We stayed in the blue room with a double bed. It has a window that looks onto a balcony. The room and bathroom were spotless. The hair dryer and bath products were great conveniences. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows, linens and towels first class. The champagne, chocolates and cookies were a luxurious little touch. The TV in the room also helped us catch up on world events in English.

Breakfast is served in a little neighborhood cafe just a short distance away and is a good example of the typical coffee, juice and pastry breakfast. Again it is a nice immersion situation in that you are eating along side locals.

I can't wait to return!

We loved the Casa di Serena. My family of 5 had a wonderful stay here. Room was large and all 5 beds were american-sized and comfy (great pillows). Bathrooms were spotless!!! Shower was spotless but door a little narrow -- you won't make it in if you're plus-sized. Location was good -- near the Vatican, which meant not so close to other sites but easy metro ride to major tourist areas. Our room had a washing machine in it, which we didn't use, but it looked clean and new. We had a large balcony which was nice. The location was quiet. We absolutely loved the Casa di Serena. However, some may be put off by having to pay IN CASH and in advance (although we did pay at the end of our stay). We arrived soon after the earthquake, and Serena let us use her computer to email that we were okay and she also helped us arrange cars/travel. Serena is so sweet and welcoming! Great b&b.

We loved our stay. Very comfortable bed, especially nice after a long day walking and touring. Sheets and blankets are soft along with pillows. White towels in the bathroom are nice and thick. Bathroom is spotless and have little soaps and lotions if you forget yours. It is a bit difficult to find once you get off the Metro at Cipro, but maybe my husband and I just have trouble following directions. :) It is about a 5 minute walk from the Cipro Metro. The Vatican is 10-15 minutes away and there are restaurants and shops all along the way. The cafe where you have your breakfast is just down the street, on the way to the Vatican, which is nice. There is a nice assortment of pastries, coffee, tea and juice. We sat outside every morning sipping tea and it was great. They have a hair dryer, coffee maker, hot tea supplies and small refrigerator which is nice to store bottled water for the next day. The only thing I wish we had was at least one English speaking TV station. We weren't in the room during the day, but it would've been nice to listen to CNN or some other English speaking news program while we got ready in the morning or while we got ready for bed in the evening. But hey, you're in Italy, so I didn't expect that anyway. My husband and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary with a trip to Rome and they had champagne, chocolates and gifts on a silver tray when we arrived. Such a nice touch and sweet thing to do for us. If we come back to Rome, we'd love to stay here again. You are in a very secure building and we felt very safe our entire trip. Thanks for everything!!!!

Dear "cbell13022",
Thank you for your wonderful review!
Anyway it is really a pity that you didn't notice that the TV in the room has cable TV channels(DTT:Digital Terrestrial Television)with BBC World for news! Moreover in the living room the TV has satellite TV channels which includes CNN!
Thanks again and hope to see you soon in Rome!
(the owner) Serena.

We had a wonderful experience at Serena's establishment.
Anything we needed including directions and recommendations
was cheerfully provided for us. One night a lightening strike caused the electricity to go out late at night and Serena was
there well past midnight making sure everyone was OK .
There is a Metro Station an easy walk away and the Vatican wall
is close enough to walk to. Overall, a delightful place to stay.
