After a horrible morning it was such a relief walkng into the Forus Inn. The staff was so wonderful. We had no reservation and they accomodated us immediately. Amy showed us where everything was on the map. She also recommended places to eat and other hotels/hostels to stay at as we continued on our trip. She booked our tickets to the vatican and gave us all the information we needed to be successful on our trip. The room was great. Free internet/cable, pretty much anything we needed we got or were pointed in the right direction.

The location was perfect. About a 5 minute walk from the Colessium and tons of great resaurants around. There is a small market and a snack shop right next to the hotel and about a block up the street is a laundramat where they wash your clothes for you. I would definitely come back here if I ever venture to Rome again.

Made a reservation at the Target Inn. After 1 hour trying to find them I called and was told that they were over booked and had made a reseravation at the Forus. Also hard to find. Stayed for four days. Changed room after the first. Do not accept the room next to the reception which is in the hallway. Loud conversations, phone calls, and cappucino making in the morning at 6:30 will not make for pleasant sleeping. Get a room as far away from this area as possible. The double glazed windows mitigate the street noise as long as you don't want to sleep with the window open. Otherwise acceptable. Except they double billed my credit card and now I have to straighten that out.

The Forus Inn is located centrally to Termini Station and most of the sights of Rome which made it convenient for sightseeing. The hotel rooms are more like dorm rooms but with your own bathroom. Not much room to move around and no place to put suitcases. Because this Inn is operated on 1 floor in a multilevel brownstone setting you are at the mercy of neighbors who live above and beyond the control of the hotel. We had someone living above our room that liked to watch TV from midnight until about 6am...and we could hear every word. For breakfast you can have whatever you want as long as it happens to be what they are serving. The rooms were otherwise clean if not overpriced, but the location is hard to beat.

This small hotel is a great value. Our room was very clean, nicely decorated, modern bathroom, comfortable bed. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, available 24 hours. The room is a bit small, but very comfortable. We loved the location, an easy walk from the Termini and only five minutes from the Colloseum. Also, the metro and bus stops are a block away so all of Rome is an easy ride from the hotel.
We did have a litle trouble finding it - in the dark, walking from the termini, we didn't see the small brass plaque on the wall. If you arrive in the evening, as we did, stop at the store next door for a bottle of wine, unpack, and take a nice walk downhill to the Colloseum - so beautiful at night!
A bonus - if you're traveling for a long time, as we were, there's a very nice laundromat/internet cafe a few doors away.

This is not a five star hotel by any means, but the location is brilliant. We just spent a weekend here and walked ten minutes to the coliseum and no more than 20 minutes to anything else. I found it very quiet and clean and a great place to stay if you just want to use it as a base to explore one of the most interesting cities on earth. Cafes and Bars all around for a nice meal and a Metro stop at the end of the road. What could be simpler ?
