We stayed at this B&B based on the reviews from this site. It lived up to it's expectation. The best part about this place, is the host, Fabio.
He made all the difference in our stay in Rome. He mapped out a course for us to walk, recommended two of the best restaurants to eat in, real local places and gave us directions for parking and getting to the airport. The breakfast was good, and the beds very comfortable. The place is not fancy, but rather like a home. I would stay here again and wish Fabio all the best.

I liked everything about Federici B&B. Fabio, the friendly proprietor, keeps its very clean. Jet lag was no problem because the bed was very comfortable and the ceiling fan kept the air fresh. The Vatican is a short walk away and the Ottaviano Metro stop is just outside the front door, making it easy to get around Rome. When asked, Fabio gave me a thorough briefing on Italian politics, as well as telling me about an excellent Sicilian take-out restaurant nearby and the best gelateria. He also pointed out the phone center-Internet cafe around the corner, where I could call the US for only 12 cents a minute. I look forward to staying at Federici B&B again.

This B&B is great!!

This was my first trip to Italy however my travel companion had stayed at Federici before. The hotel is right outside the Metro station for St Peters (the actual name of the station escapes me right now) however it means the location of Federici takes a lot to be beaten. It also helps you are that close to the Vatican museum so you can there early and avoid the massive queue later in the day.

Our room was lovely with a well appointed en-suite and it was cleaned regularly. Breakfast was nice and you have a chance to speak to other guests around the one big breakfast table.

There are plenty of nice restaurants around and after dinner you can grab an ice cream and wonder around St Peters.

All in all, service, location, bedroom all great and would recommend to anyone who wants to stay somewhere that's not a bland and boring corporate hotel.

We stayed at Federici B & B for 2 nights. It was wonderful!
We booked the B & B directly through Fabio via email. He was quick to respond to all emails and questions.
Upon arrival, he met us downstairs and helped us with our bags (he showed us how to use the elevator for the building, which was really tiny, but most places in Italy don't even have one, so it worked). The B & B actually is 2 floors in the building-the first floor with reception, guest rooms, and the breakfast room, the second containing guest rooms, a common room, and a guest fridge.
As we arrived early, our room was not quite ready, but, as the previous guests had already left, he allowed us to drop our bags and change clothes before heading out. He gave us a great map of the city and was helpful with any questions.
Our room was really nice. Good size, with a big window (which opened up to an interior courtyard), and a nice bathroom. As the room did open to the courtyard, this kept it very quiet the whole time, avoiding any traffic or street noise. The room also had a ceiling fan, which kept it nice and cool. It was pretty basic, but cute, comfortable, and clean.
Breakfast at the B & B is nice, consisting of meats, cheeses, croissants, cereal, tea, coffee, and juice.
The location is great. It is literally right at the metro stop, and close to plenty of gelaterias and cafes, as well as Vatican City. It is not a much farther walk to the other main attractions (Rome looks big on a map, but it is actually quite walkable). Of course, there is always the metro or buses you can take if you prefer not to walk. I would definitely book my stay here again on my next trip to Rome!
