Our room was inside an apartment complex. We went through the main entrance, across a court yard and then to 4th floor. we then went through what was like a front door to a flat. Once through we discovered that there were three bedrooms and a breakfast room. Our room was very nice it had ensuite, a fridge, large windows (which looked out to the court yard) and air conditioning. The room seemed to have been recently decorated. Our only gripe about the room was the main air conditioning fan for the three bedrooms was outside our room. It got very noisy as one of the other rooms had theirs on at night. However we were unable to close the door to drown out the noise as we couldn't put our air condiitoning on - there was no remote control for our unit. We did ask for one, but it never materalised!

Breakfast was served in a breakfast room. There was a choice of cerals, bread, ham, cheese, veg, fruit, juice and croissants.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They are great to get advice from.

Location was very close to the termini, from where you could access most sites but it is walking distance to the colosseum.

Despite the air conditioning gripe I would recommend this B&B. It was great value for money, good location, clean and had helpful staff

I should have put this review up sooner and as I have mentioned it on the Rome Forum at times.
Stayed in La Casa di Amy B & B which is only 2 streets from the Roma Termini (main train station).
This B & B is run by a very professional family. They had a watch shop just along from our accommodation. The young son took us to the B & B and helped with our rolling luggage. The building had a key entry, a pleasant foyer, and a small lift which took us up to the 4 th floor. Another key entry. The apartment has only four bedrooms. We had a built in ensuite but no washing machine. A laundrette is across the road, check the prices though. The room on the street is quite large with high ceilings (our first two nights) and the one on the back (last 3 nights) which is not as big and a bit confined, overlooks the apartment buildings with clothes hanging on lines from windows...so Italian and I loved the atmosphere. The bedrooms open out onto a communial dining room and kitchen (no real lounge room), where a reasonable continental breakfast is served each morning. We had a pleasant young girl, who was very obliging in attendance. The owners arrive (either husband or wife) at breakfast to see if all is well. This apartment had recently been refurbished when we were there in Oct 07. We weren't allowed to cook there but we did use the facilities and cleaned up afterwards at night. They do have another B& B though and ours was in Via Principe Amedeo 85a.
This B & B is in a great location for tourists as the Termini has a supermarket which has some interesting deli items, wine and is located downstairs. There are also shops, a tabacchi ( newsagent) which is very small on the walk in floor to the right and where you can buy your Rome bus tickets. Also the open air Rome Day Tour bus and the tour bus for the catacombs pulls in outside as do all others. For the info centre you would go downstairs and it is where we booked our 4 hour tour of the Vatican.
We also caught the train south and back here for Sorrento and the Leonardo Express to the airport to go home. We bought our Leonardo tickets at a booth right beside the platform required.
The subway (metro) took us only a stop or three each way to the Coloseum and the Trevi Fountain, although we did have to walk a few blocks to the latter.
Overlook the variety of people on the streets in this area as we had no trouble. Just walk to the accommodation and forget the hawking cab drivers at the railway station as they are not needed unless if it is very late at night.

Must say this was not a young backpackers accommodation and we shared with well behaved tenants both times we stayed there for two nights and then three nights on our return from Sorrento. This B & B is in a very handy location, especially for tourists.

Casa Di Amy is a warm and friendly place - very comfortable. The rooms are very small by American standards, but very clean and well cared for. The breakfast was included in the price of the room, and was very much appreciated. It was a typical European breakfast consisting of cold meat, cheese, fruit, yogurt, an assortment of breads, and juice and coffee (cappaccino as well). It gave a solid nurtitional start to busy traveler days. The bed was very comfortable, and there was a small refrigerator. As is typical of Europe, they do not provide a lot of towels and no bar soap, but they did have shower gels and exchanged towels every couple of days. I would recommend this place to someone who plans to do a lot of sightseeing - the location was TERRIFIC! Very friendly staff.

We stayed two nights and wouldn't hesitate to go back. The hotel is so easy to find from the Termini station and we felt quite safe in the area. Termini station (not even 5 mins away) is so well served by the Metro and buses for touring Rome as well as so easy to walk to for intercity or airport connections. We arrived at 9 am and intended just to store our luggage but it was lovely to find they had a room ready for us. One morning we had to leave early and it was no effort to make breakfast supplies ready the night before for us. The staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful. We stayed in the room off the kitchen which was faced the street.. The other rooms are probably even better.

La Casa di Amy was a great choice for our first night in Rome after a long flight from Australia. It was just 2 blocks from Termini train staion and even though we arrived at night time, we were greeted and taken to our room with a smile. The staff are very polite and helpful. All spoke English.
We stayed there on 2 separate nights, 1 night with our daughter and her partner, so I had the oppotrunity to see 3 different rooms. All were decorated tastfully and clean and tidy. Large rooms compared to what we found later in our travels.
The Hotel was very handy to the train station and the Metro attached. Down the road is a supermarket. The rooms had great air conditioning as well as a bar. Some overlook the street and others the cute courtyard. Great photo opportunities here.

In the reception was the free internet, so we emailed home several times.

The home style breakfast consisted of croissants , toast , jams , cereals , hams, cheese, and wonderful fresh italian tomatoes as well as a traditional tart , teas and coffees, oh and yoghurts served in a home style kitchen set-up....very welcoming, indeed. Not that stuffy 5 star buffet, but just like being at home and sharing breakfast with others from around the world.
We really enjoyed our stay here and thank them for their hospitality.
