First time in Rome ! Looked for a nice, well located, affordable and clean B & B. Found this gem through venere.com where there are more reviews than here but ended up booking directly with the property.

The location, 5 minutes walk from Termini, the main railway station, could not have been better: All airport coaches arrive here, most local buses stop here and both subway lines A & B intersect here. The area is full of restaurants, stores and a couple of drug/grocery stores (one open to midnight at the bottom floor of Termini).

La Casa di Amy is owned by charming Lilla and her husband. They speak excellent English so communication is no problem. The apartment was located on the 3rd floor but there was an elevator so no problem with luggage.

The room was nicely appointed and faced the quiet courtyard and equipped with an ensuite bathroom, A/C, a small refrigerator, a comfortable queen-size bed, an armoire and a table with 2 chairs, perfect for enjoying a peaceful siesta & light lunch or snack.

The breakfast was beautifully presented with good coffee, cold-cuts, fruit, youghurt, juice, cereal, muesli, various breads and pastries.

All in all a very enjoyable and pleasant stay. Highly recommended !

My three adult children and I loved our stay at La Casa di Amy in late August. Everything about it was superb: the warm and helpful staff, the comfortable and handsomely-appointed rooms, the more-than-ample breakfast, the location (near three of my favourite mosaic-filled churches) and the price. I have already recommended it to a number of friends. Its proximity to Termini Station was very helpful since we could pick up our rental car there to continue our journey.

Overall the stay at La Casa di Amy was very satisfying. We arrived early, so we had to wander around for 2 hours before being allowed to check in. The room was located about half a block from the watch shop of La Casa di Amy, it was very easy to find, and just a few minutes from Termini. The room was located in an apartment with 4 rooms, and the living room was used as the breakfast room. It was smaller than we thought, although it was sufficient for 2 anyway so it didn’t bother us. There was a fridge, air conditioner, and coffee/tee making facility, all worked very well. The bed was a queen size, and very comfortable. There was no extra pillow or storage place, though. The only shelf in the room was locked. The room was made everyday, and the towels were replaced every other day. The room and the bathroom were nicely cleaned everyday. The bathroom was in general clean.

Breakfast was served rather late, 8-9.30am (the Roman breakfast time, I was told). It consists of juice, milk/tea/coffee, packaged croissant, bread, ham/cheese, and cereals. The breakfast was prepared in the morning and left on the kitchen counter without anyone attending to it.

The service was good overall, the check-in process was simple, and cash was preferred to credit card. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. We were satisfied overall, although there were several minor flaws. One day after the towels were replaced one towel was forgotten as a result for two nights one of us had no bath towels. The second incident was that we ran out of toilet paper and it was not refilled even though we had left a note there reminding the cleaning staff. The next day we left a much larger note on the bathroom mirror and then only it was refilled. We also mentioned that we were leaving very early on the day of departure and although a packed breakfast was promised for us it was simply forgotten.

  • Liked — A functioning air conditioner - much needed in Rome in August

We stayed at La Casa di Amy in early June 2008. There shop was very easy to find, and within a short 5 mintue walk to the Termini train station. The Termini station was great to have near by because you can take the subway and buses to every point of Rome. It made getting around very easy and affortable.

We checked into their small shop where we were greeted by the owner, and they walked us one block to our room on the 4th floor. The building had an elevator which was great for getting home after a long day of walking. The B&B was set up in an apartment, with 4 rooms connected to a common area used for breakfast in the mornings. Our room was a good size, and it and the bathroom was very clean.

Breakfast was served from 8:30 till 9:30 each morning. A gentleman was there to fill your juice, and ensure that nothing ran out. They had an assorment of cold cuts, cheeses, and cearls. As well as yogurt, breads, toast and jam, etc. Very nice breakfast.

The owners we very friendly and spoke very good english. They were open most of the day, to come and ask questions, and use their internet.

Overall we were very happy with the room, location, and service. Would highly recommend it!

For us La Casa di Amy looks nice, but just like some other people we never got to see it for ourselves. We were bumped in another part of the street due to overbooking. When mu daughter and I arrived for our 4 night stay, it was a gift for her exams, we found out that we'd be staying at another hotel a few blocks away. We chose Casa di Amy because it looked like a nice B&B with personal touches. The hotel we were bumped to was not finished. We had to change rooms after a day and there was no breakfast. We have to go to a place in another street and we eat 4 days 2 toast, 1 coffee and a orange juice. When we confirmed our reservation, they made no comment about bumping us to another location. If I had known we were going to get bumped to another hotel, I would have booked a room for us someplace else. When we complained about it, the female owner start yelling at us. The neighborhood is oké, not very scarey. It’s close to the station.

  • Liked — It was near the station
  • Disliked — They promissed a great breakfast and they don't make it!
