We stayed in Eva's Rooms this past June (2007). We had Room 1 and Room 3 because we are a family of 4. Eva's rooms are on the main street of Vernazza and easy to find. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. We even got our own spot to hang our wet things out the window!

Room 3 did not have air-conditioning and we slept with the window open but still the train did not awaken us. Maybe we were just worn out from all that hiking! Room 3 has a bathroom included.

Room 1 is bigger and its bathroom is in the corridor outside the room. It is, however, reserved for Room 1 only. The air conditioning worked fine.

This is not by the water and you can't see the water from the room. You can just see the picturesque town.

The rooms are on the 3rd floor. Pack light; there's no elevator. Having said that, though, we didn't think it was too much of a hardship. Every where you go in this town has a lot of steps. At least this is on the main street and easy to find.

The owners were helpful enough giving us instructions via prompt email. They got us checked in and instructed on using the air-con. After that, however, we did not see them.

There is no breakfast included but there are plenty of spots on the main street to pick up something tasty; we ate by the water.

  • Liked — We felt like one of the locals.
  • Disliked — There are a lot of steps.

My husband and I selected Eva's Rooms because of its central location, and the location did turn out to be really nice... This hotel gets an above average rating as a result. It was close to the tourist spots - Spanish Steps & Trevi Fountain... close to the metro and close to shopping :)

We were really excited to return to an air conditioned room after a long, hot day of site seeing around Rome. Though the breakfast wasn't too die for, it was nice to wake up to something just to get you moving. The shower was miniscule, but the water pressure was amazing and there was plenty of hot water. There was always someone in the office when we walked by although we didn't ask for or receive a lot in the way of advice or suggestions. They did call us a taxi for our early morning departure. If you are in Roma to see Roma, Eva's Rooms (though a bit pricey) is a quality place to stay.

When we arrived in Rome we were thrilled with just how great the location of this hotel is. Just a block and a half from the Spanish Steps and subway in one direction and another couple blocks from the Trevi fountain in another direction. There were lots of great places to eat around and it felt very safe.

The cost of the hotel did seem a little high for what we got, but the location really couldn't be beat and so to me, that was worth it. The rooms were cute and colorful and if you're not planning to spend a ton of time in your hotel I think this is a perfect spot. Breakfast was simple, but if you're like us and you just need a quick bite before you get out and see the city than you won't be disappointed.

When we left Rome, we had to catch a very early flight to Venice. We weren't quite sure how we were gonna get a cab so early in the morning to take us to Treviso airport (it was earlier than the buses & subways start running), so the hotel arranged a car for us. He gave us a quick spin around Rome while the sun was just rising and there were no people out on the streets. It was absolutely beautiful and actually one of the most memorable things we did. We really appreciated the great service from the driver.

I did a lot of research on hotels in Rome and while I did find some that were cheaper, they seemed to be off i the outskirts or poorer quality than Eva's Rooms. All in all we were quite happy with our stay.

If you would rather see Rome than lounge about in a hotel room then this is the place for you. It's clean. the beds are comfortable. You absolutely cannot beat the location. If you like to walk you can easily walk to trevi fountain, the colleseum and a host of other sites including the posh shoppiong area filled with the likes of Gucci, Pucci and Prada.

Its slap in the middle of two metro stops (the A and B lines) and it also is close to good bus connections.

Breakfast is a basic sugary croissant and tea or coffee, but hey you're in Italy - wouldn't you rather be eating a pannini on the piazza anyway?

The rooms are only on the first and second stories and it is a built up city so the rooms are a little dark and there are no views. Our room had amazing painted ceilings though.

It's cosy, it's clean and you just can't beat the position. Near enough to the centre but not over priced like the vatican area. the staff we're helpful when we asked them for anything. The place felt secure. It's small but tastefully decorated.

Great for couples whop like to get out and explore.

We stayed at Eva's rooms Oct 9-11, 2006. Myself, my wife and 2 kids (ages 10, 12). We stayed in their 4 person room, which consisted of a queen bed and 2 single beds in one fairly large room. I liked Eva's rooms for the functionality -- quiet, clean rooms (ours faced into a courtyard alongside the hotel) and great location (just a 2 minute walk to Spanish Steps/Spagna Metro stop, 3 minutes to Trevi Fountain, major bus stop with multiple lines is 2 minutes away, etc.). As others have noted, the breakfast is basic, but to me, who wants to spend time having breakfast in your hotel when you can be out exploring the city...or having breakfast outside in a piazza at a cafe.....? Staff was helpful and accomodating to us, although we did not use any of their restaurant recommendations. That said, I was not disappointed with any of the places we ate at in Rome - some we chose via guiebook, some via tour guide recs, and some just random selection. Bottom line, for the price and location (every hotel in Rome seems overpriced), I think Eva's is a nice European-style hotel option. If you want pampering and luxury, you should look elsewhere.
