We found it hard trying to find Aenea's B&B as there is just a door without a sign, which was frustrating as it was pouring down with rain at the time!

After finally finding the place and going up to the fourth floor in the smallest elevator I have ever seen, we were greeted warmly, shown the basics and given a map that would proove extremely helpful in the 4 days we were spending in Rome. Then we were left to our own devises as staff are only in the B&B when people are checking in and to clean every morning.

On the first morning we were woken up at 7am by someone buzzing on the intercom and as we were under instruction not to answer the door we left it. It must've been about 1/2 hour before the person went away much to the frustration of us!

The breakfast was basic with a range of cereals, teas, coffees and toast left to make ourselves which we liked.

The B&B is in a great location in terms of being near the Colloseum and Termini station, but the area is very 'rough' and I didn't feel that safe there. There was even someone sleeping in the lobby on a fold-away bed at some point! Most odd!

The room itself was clean and comfortable, although the view could've been better! We were staying in the white room which I had requested as I liked the look of it. The bed was very squeaky though and we could hear everything that was going on outside in the main area.

All in all I would say this is a great place to stay if you're on a budjet but not for any women travelling on their own!

My husband and I stayed in Aeneas B&B for 2 days. Our first reaction when we arrived and saw the street and building the B&B was in, was that of shock. Via Ratazzia is not the cleanest and/or prettiest of streets, with some very dodgy characters hanging about right on the front step. The B&B is on the 4th floor of a very delapidated building and the elevator is ancient. Entering the doors of Aeneas though, we were pleasantly surprised: we can't fault the inside: it was clean, modernly decorated and furnished with loveley four poster beds and had a self-service kitchen, fully equipped. Unfortunately, the view from our bedroom window was a shocker as well: it looks out on a courtyard with hundreds of other flats and apartments with washing hanging out to dry and smells and noises from other people's kitchens etc...not a pretty sight! But saying that, if you're in Rome, the idea is probably to spend most of your time sightseeing and being out and about though, so I guess the view and surroundings doen't matter that much. The plus point is that it's very conveniently situated near the Termini Train Station (walking distance). As I've said: the inside of Aeneas is lovely, but if you're in for an area with a bit more class and quality...don't go there. I would also not render the area safe for lone woman travellers.

great service. nice hosts. very clean and modern renovated rooms in typical older building of Rome. Great location near train station and a short walk to restaurants and attractions. relatively quiet neighborhood but can be noisy during the day with the windows open. the price is right so you really cannot go wrong with this choice. ranks highly compared to most other B and B's of Rome.

We are frech honeymooner just back from Aenea's B&B in Rome. It was absolutely perfect and vey romantic.....rooms with 4 poster bed, very clean, friendly and kind the owner. It's in the heart of Rome near everything, we never took a bus! Very quiet and bright, we suggest it to all honeymooners. We stayed there for 1 week. If you want to spend your honeymoon in Rome I think you could not find such romantic and clean rooms not even in a 5 star hotel. The area is ok, the street is little and quiet.
