Arriving in Rome by train, this B&B is conveniently situated a few minutes walk from the Termini station.
When looking for this place, you may struggle to find it without the building number as the B&B is in fact a large section of the 4th floor of an unmarked apartment building.
However, it truly is a hidden gem once you've taken the old fashioned lift to the 4th floor.
The lady who runs the establishment greeted us with a warm welcome & guided me around the breakfast kitchen.
She also gave me a map of Rome & pointed out the key sights.
The room was everything we needed. A decent sized shower equipped bathroom, a four poster bed, window blinds that open onto a typical Roman street & even a DVD player with films that when watched at night snuggled with a loved one & the mood lighting, it's perfect!
I'm not sure I will return to Rome as I've seen all I need to see but for all visiting, give this place a try. It's good for couples & families alike.

  • Liked — Convenient location, interesting decor, DVD player, four poster bed, friendly staff.
  • Disliked — Breakfast options limited (no cold meats)

I really liked this place. Right next to the station, easy walki from the colloseum and the rest. The staff and other guests were very friendly and welcoming. The room was great with a wonderful 4 poster bed. Everything was very clean and modern. More relaxed than a hotel, I prefered it and it was cheaper. No doubt, I will go back and I recommend it without hesitation.

When we arrived at Aena's B&B we, like one of the other reviewers couldn't find it because the numbers nor the name of the B&B are clearly marked. We also thought the street looked a bit dodgey but as we were exhausted from our travel and this B&B was 5 minutes from Termini station (we arrived at Rome via coach from Ciampino airport) its location was a godsend.

We tried to contact Federica (the owner) by mobile phone before we arrived to make sure that someone would be there and; her cleaner was (we never got to meet Federica which was a shame). The cleaner buzzed the door open but never told us which floor we were in thus we waited downstairs in the hope she'd come down and help us with our luggage (she didn't). We buzzed again upstairs and she seemed a bit stroppy about this and asked us to come upstairs to the 4th floor. By this time we were a little peeved to say the least as the lift was the tiniest we've ever seen and smelt a bit odd.

However, she showed us into the entrance of the B&B and we have to state very very clearly that we were absolutely impressed by the decor and cleanliness. It was a little heaven.

We stayed from 21st to 22nd April 2007 and returned on 27th to 28th April. Each time we had a different room and both were extremely comfortable.

The comments about overlooking the inner courtyard of the building are fair comments made by a previous reviewer however this is quite normal for apartments in city locations. Considering where we were the apartments were very quiet.

The dining room is just as you come into the B&B and all around are the other B&B bedrooms. Thus when you come in you do have to consider the other people who maybe staying.

The breakfast was laid out the day before and it looked very nice except I'm not a great lover of the toast or that biscuit bread but nevertheless it was again laid out nicely and looked inviting.

All the comments in the guest book are excellent. We would stay hear again definitely and suggest you do too.

Happy holiday!!

We stayed this beautiful Bed and Breakfast for ten nights on our honeymoon! We loved it! Although the location is not one of the bests in Rome, the interior of this B&B is more than excellent. The owners are probably the nicest people we met in Rome and the rooms are soooo beautiful and clean. Breakfast was great: cereals, bread, yoghurt, juice and tea and coffee. We walked a lot and for that this B&B had a good locationing. And the men on the streets by night were nice overall! :)

  • Liked — The beautiful and clean interior!
  • Disliked — The location on a quiet street

We found it hard trying to find Aenea's B&B as there is just a door without a sign, which was frustrating as it was pouring down with rain at the time!

After finally finding the place and going up to the fourth floor in the smallest elevator I have ever seen, we were greeted warmly, shown the basics and given a map that would proove extremely helpful in the 4 days we were spending in Rome. Then we were left to our own devises as staff are only in the B&B when people are checking in and to clean every morning.

On the first morning we were woken up at 7am by someone buzzing on the intercom and as we were under instruction not to answer the door we left it. It must've been about 1/2 hour before the person went away much to the frustration of us!

The breakfast was basic with a range of cereals, teas, coffees and toast left to make ourselves which we liked.

The B&B is in a great location in terms of being near the Colloseum and Termini station, but the area is very 'rough' and I didn't feel that safe there. There was even someone sleeping in the lobby on a fold-away bed at some point! Most odd!

The room itself was clean and comfortable, although the view could've been better! We were staying in the white room which I had requested as I liked the look of it. The bed was very squeaky though and we could hear everything that was going on outside in the main area.

All in all I would say this is a great place to stay if you're on a budjet but not for any women travelling on their own!

  • Liked — The room and being left to our own devices.
  • Disliked — The area it was located
  • Tips/Secrets: — Use the Metro. It's simple to use, cheap and convenient!
