I stayed at Hotel Martini for four nights in September 2013, and was not disappointed. Although the hotel is located on a busy street, you can't hear any traffic noise in the rooms. The old-fashioned lift to reception is adorable, and reception itself is nice as well. The hotel itself is only very small with a handful of rooms, but this makes the experience more intimate and personal.
I booked the hotel via direct email. Valentina was incredibly friendly and helpful and gave me all the information needed to book a room that was right for us. The rest of the staff are also very friendly, giving hints and tips about Rome and providing us with maps of the area. I just could not fault them!
The rooms themselves are small (but this is common in Italy!), and well-equipped. Air conditioning worked perfectly, shower and bathroom were fine. The little balcony we had was so cute as well! A nice touch!
As for breakfast... loved it! Ham, cheese, juice, croissants, cake, toast, eggs - what more could you ask for! It was perfect. The breakfast room is also small and intimate, almost like a little cafe. It was delightful. Also need to mention the staff, who every morning asked us whether we would like coffee with our breakfast, and would then make it for us. Fantastic customer service.
Also need to mention the location. You can walk to everything in Rome from here. The Trevi Fountain is only 15 minutes away, and the Colosseum is down the road. Very handy!
Overall, I really enjoyed staying at Hotel Martini, and would do so again. If you want a small, simple hotel right in the centre of Rome, then this is the place for you. Delightful!
