“Wonderful stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

We truly enjoyed our visit to the Hotel Golden! The rooms were pretty, comfortable and clean and the breakfast buffet had plenty to offer. The location was perfect, situated on a quiet side street, within walking distance to the Borghese Gardens and the Spanish steps (approx 20 mins).
The family was friendly and courteous. Marco and Guiseppe helped us with our train schedules and taxis. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a small, family-style comfort away from the main traffic of Rome.

Thank you Marco and your family. From The moment we walked in until we left your hospitality has been fantastic. Your breakfast which is included in the cost of the room was superb. Eggs made to order, fresh fruit, wonderfully squeezed orange juice, and amazing pastries made on site and of course great coffee. The smiling faces of your family your mother your sister-in-law etc. first thing in the morning makes the day you to start.
The advice you gave us regarding Villa Borgase was fantastic. Your restaurant recommendations were also wonderful.
The location of the hotel is amazing. Is about five minutes walk to Villa Borges. It is about 15 minutes by taxi To the Sistine Chapel and to most of the other important sites. In addition it is a five minute walk to a metro station.
The room was amazingly clean. Our friends had the standard room with a queen size bed which was very comfortable. We took a Junior suite which was huge, king-size bed and a kitchen table in the lounge area and a huge bathroom. This was a really amazing for a European city.
No problem recommending and definitely would consider returning when we come back to Rome another time.

This was a awesome stay at this Hotel. The rooms were Very clean and Very roomy for European standard. The family was always there to help and gave us great advise on places to eat and train times. The breakfast was homemade and very good. They set up our transportation to and from the airport and it was excellent. The location is close to everything and either you can walk or take a taxi or metro which is a few blocks away. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Everyone we encountered from the beautiful Loria family of the Hotel Golden were very friendly and eager to help with finding restaurants, transportation, etc.

The rooms were beautifully-decorated and well-equipped. It was wonderful to come back to such a nice hotel for a rest after sight-seeing all over Rome.

The breakfasts were more than adequate and delicious.

It was such a comfort that the owners speak such good English!

I would definitely recommend this to friends and family.

Stayed at the "Golden" from 22-26 September, with my adult daughter. I have chosen this hotel for its location and the great reviews on TA. The hotel is exceptionally clean and tidy, on a quiet street off the mayham that is Rome. It is not THAT close to Metro station or the Spanish Steps as most reviews claim. To both locations its about 12 minutes of vigorous walking, so don't expect "around the corner" kind of location.
Our room was nice, not very big but comfortable with a big bathroom (a little short on shelves..) - sparkling clean. Hot water in the shower was never really hot, but close enough.
Breakfast is the usual European fare which is not my cup of tea, so we had some difficulty with that.
My only question mark is regarding the family running the place: Almost all reviewers raved about the helpfulness and friendliness of the brothers. They were always friendly and courtious, but can't say they went out of their way to be helpful...?!

Room Tip: We had room 104 - can't say if better or worse than the rest. Was quiet at night.

My husband and I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel for a total of 6 nights during the period of (9/13 - 9/25). This hotel had been recommended to us by friends who had stayed here last year during their visit to Rome. From the moment we entered this hotel we felt very comfortable and this family went out of the way to make sure we were settled in and provided us with the security you want during your visit to a large city. Giuseppe and Marco were wonderful to take their time to educate us on the city. They provided us with maps, directions and great suggestions on things to do in the city as well as offering additional suggestions for the days after we had visited the most well known sites. They also provided us with helpful suggestions on dining out and made all the arrangements for any transportation we required during our stay. Of course, we must also make mention of the rest of the family members who also helped to make this a wonderful stay. Our buffet breakfast was very good and again were willing to provide you with whatever requests you may have. This is a small hotel with a very special family operating this facility. We stayed in three different rooms and we must admit that room # 108 on September 23rd and 24th was our favorite. One more wonderful touch was during our final goodbyes the entire family came to us and thanked us for staying at their hotel and we all wished each other the best for the future. This is the way to run a successful business. The personal contact is a rarity today and was outstanding. We will definitely recommend this hotel to others and would like to say to the Lazio Family - "Thank you once again. You all have a lot to be proud of. Both of us would like to extend our greatest appreciation which made our visit to Rome a wonderful experience.!"

Room Tip: The room closest to the reception desk was great with the exception of the view. If you prefer to op...

You could not ask more of a hotel than what the Hotel Golden provides. It is so nice to have so much help in finding your way around Rome. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome. The location is perfect fairly close to the train station and not far from old Rome.
