We stayed here for 3 nights in October 2009 in a double room with shared bathroom. The best thing about this place is the location...it is literally 50 metres to the Trevi fountain, with lots of cafes and restaurants all around. It is also walking distance to many of the major sights (Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Piazza Espagna) and only a 5 minute walk to the main shopping street (Via Dei Corso).

It was a big climb to our room on the 4th floor (Very narrow stairs at the top) - no lift. The staff were pretty unfriendly. The girl who checked us in couldn't speak any English and had a lot of difficulty working out the number of nights we were staying. The girl who gave us breakfast was also unfriendly and the breakfast was pretty bad - prepackaged pastries, juice and coffee and that's all.

The room itself is tiny - our room had a sloped ceiling so we couldn't stand up straight in most of it (and we are pretty short!). A tall person would not be able to stay in this room. It had a decent bed and also a tv, fridge and safe (not the most secure looking safe..anyone could just pick it up and walk away). Also had a cupboard that started collapsing every time we opened it. However the room and shared bathroom were clean and it is decent place to sleep if you're trying to stick a budget...would probably not stay here again though.

We arrived! The front door was hanging off and the building was covered with scaffolding. We then had a long walk up 3 filghts of stairs...not the best start. Then we were greeted by a charming lady who spoke excellent English and shown to a lovely, large room which was cool, airy, clean and well furnished. I have stayed in 4/5 star hotels that may have had more facilities but never a better location. For the price I would easily recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again when in Rome.

We stayed here fo 4 nights in mid-July. Great location, about a 15-20 minute walk from Terminii train station. 15 minutes to the main attractions, and about 50 metres to the ever busy and ever beautiful Trevi Fountain.
You will never see Maria the owner, but you will see Maria who is responsible for cleaning the rooms and preparing breakfast (putting it out). She is very sweet and helpful, and her english is excellent!
Two upstairs double have a very low ceiling, but the AC works real well and the bathroom is relatively clean. Overall a very good valua for a great location, clean rooms and bathrooms, and great AC. WiFi in communal kitchen (which is always stocked with juices and snacks) but the signal doesn't get throughout the whole building.

The 3 Coins B&B is a functional B&B and would not win any awards for style certainly. But in a city of super expensive hotels this is a FANTASTIC choice. The location is amazing - you are less than 2 mins walk from the Trevi Fountain (and the best ice cream in the world! A place called San Crispino on the Via della Panetteria). You can walk from the 3 Coins to all the usual major sight seeing spots in no time at all. The rooms have air con - which is much needed in the Roman summer! And best of all - the owners are super friendly - they called us not long after we arrived at the airport to check our arrival time to make sure someone was there to meet us. And when we (foolishly!) left some possessions in the hotel room, they couriered them back to us overnight. You know this is not a super stylish Boutique hotel, but for somewhere clean and pleasant to sleep at night and in a good spot, you can't beat it.

The location of 3 Coins B&B is very convenient for tourist spots like Fontana di Trevi, the Spanish steps, Piazza Navona, Pantheon etc.

The rooms are plain, but clean and comfortable. The size of the rooms vary greatly, we got a very spacious room for 4 people, but I think some of the double rooms are extremely small.

The price is very good considering the location. Of course, for this price no luxury is to be expected. But if all you require is a quiet and clean place to stay in, while minimizing the need for using public transportation, 3 coins B&B is a good choice.

Fontana di Trevi is basically right outside the door, and it is nice to go out and look at the fountain in early mornings/late evenings when it is all quiet and peaceful.
