This was our first trip to Rome, but Marco and Catia (so helpful with directions and tips!) made our visit relaxing, enjoyable, and very special. This small guest house is in a great location on the tip of Trastevere, easy walking distance to such sights as the Colosseum and Pantheon, but also the beautiful and deeply spiritual Santa Maria church in Trastevere. We also had an early tour at the Vatican one morning and made it quite easily (by catching a taxi at the nearby stand). Though Rome is not renowned for fabulous food, we followed several of our host's suggestions and had some memorable meals close by, and also a nice lunch at the Royal Café near the Colosseum (where Catia also works). The rooms here are a nice size, comfortable without being too fancy or fussy, and the area is very quiet at night (quite welcome when one is trying to get some much needed rest). Communal breakfasts, served in a lovely dining room on the main level, were sumptious, and we had engaging conversations with both our hosts and the other guests. We stayed here 3 nights on the front end of a two-week Italy trip, and one night on the back end (before flying out). It really did feel like coming "home" after our journey through Tuscany, so that in itself is a reliable sign of what a great place this is to stay. Though not cheap, Marco offers a nice discount for cash payment, and it was no pricier than other places we stayed in Italy. I would recommend this guest house to anyone seeking a perfect romantic stay in the Eternal City. When booking, Marco sends excellent and detailed instructions about how to get to the place (which, like all good things, takes a bit of effort). Because of it's location (several floors up in a residential building, in a maze of one-way streets), it is not easy to find, but Marco's directions delivered us right to the door. We managed to get there in about 40 minutes from Fiumicino, by train and fast tram.
