We arrived in Rome after a week long trip in France for a short two day excursion in Rome. We took the bus to the metro and then the metro to the hotel. The metro is about a mile from the hotel with unforgiving sidewalks if you are halling a bunch of luggage with you. (I might suggest getting a taxi). Walking to the hotel, you pass the Colosseum. The hotel is literally a 4-5 minute walk from the hotel. Also, most of all the other main attractions are within walking distance of the hotel. We arrived at the Guest House to be greeted warmly by Vincent and who I would assume is his daughter working the reception and cleaning the rooms. The place seemed very inviting and cozy. We went through the check-in process and were given the keys to our room. Then, without even asking him, Vincent gave us a map highlighting all the major attractions, told us the most efficient (and inexpensive) ways to get there, and what to do when we got there. We followed his advice to the T and made it around the city easily. We went to our room to find exactly what the picture had shown. We had a large bed, tv, FREE INTERNET, air conditioning (a must when staying in Italy during the summer, a very cozy, clean room. That evening, we wanted authentic Italian. We went to the front desk to ask for a suggestion. We were greeted by Barbara (the sweetest woman you will ever meet) who gave us a map, highlighted where the closest restaurants were, wrote down how to get there, what the names were, what they served, etc. Very helpful. We ate at two of the places she suggested and they were wonderful. We checked out on the third day. It went very smoothly. They ordered us a cab par our request the night before and it was waiting for us when we returned from breakfast. Overall, an amazing place to stay, very helpful and kind staff. I would definitely stay here again.
