We stayed here 5 nights and enjoyed having a computer with internet access right in our room. The hosts, Barbara and Vincent were friendly and helpful. Juice drinks and snacks were always available in the hall. The Colosseum Metro was just 2 blocks and there were several bus stops nearby. The guest house was quiet and the room and bathroom were clean. There are numerous restaurants in the area. We especially like Isidoro which is near San Clemente Church. There are several ATM's nearby. We felt safe walking in the area at night.

We only spent one night in Rome before heading to our other spots in Italy and this place was GREAT! We wanted something close to the Colosseum and it was...only 2 blocks. The owners were very helpful and gracious, gave us a map of Rome, helped us navigate to the metro during a large demonstration the day we left. The rooms were well equipped, especially with a computer with free internet access. Our bed was very comfortable esp. after our long flight. Around the corner we found a great sidewalk restaurant with the best calzones we've ever had. I wish we had more time to spend in Rome and if we ever go back (hopefully!!) we'll definitely stay here again!

Safe, secure, and with a great location, Arena Guest House was an ideal place to explore Rome. It is only a few minutes walk down the road to the Colosseum and a metro station and other public transportation. The street that Arena Guest is on couldn’t get any safer, you are right in the middle of two police stations! Even without the stations though, it is a nice neighbourhood with lots of restaurants and wine bars.
The room was small, but quiet and nice. Lots of cupboard/wardrobe space and a clean ensuite with a shower. Every room has its own computer & internet which is fantastic! The hosts are extremely helpful & offer complimentary tea/coffee, juice and snacks, which are available all the time.
Breakfast is available at two cafes just around the corner. It is a coffee & pastry per person. Small, but that is the Italian thing. Bonus is you can get it any time of the day!

The prices are very good value for Rome, and you can’t beat the service or location. Recommended!

We arrived in Rome and found this place without a problem because it is located right around the corner from the Coloseum. The couple who run Arena House immediately made us feel at home. Every time we asked a question, they would pull out a map and draw all sorts of walking routes for us to take. The room was exactly as described: bare bones accommodations but everything we needed was there PLUS a computer with free internet in every room. Perfect place to stay|

I booked my accommodation at Arena House on the recommendations of Lonely Planets guide to Rome and the strength of the many glowing reviews on Trip Advisor. I was a little sceptical that Arena House would live up to such outstanding appraisals, however I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by both the service and standard of accommodation. I stayed here for 4 nights in May 2008 and when I was fortunate enough to make a return weekend visit to Rome in December 2008, booked my stay here without hesitation.

As I was traveling alone and on both occasions and booked single rooms, it seemed luxurious to be accommodated in spacious rooms with a double bed and my own beautifully clean bathroom. The rooms are well equipped with a computer with free internet access, wardrobes, drawers, a television and a small fridge and the bathrooms are provided with soaps, shampoos, towels and a hair dryer. Compared to what’s offered in other large European cities this is great value, really comfortable, quiet and also situated in a safe part of Rome.

Arena House is well located near the Colloseum so it’s easy to access the metro and bus services to get around the city. It’s also worth noting that if your time in Rome is limited you can get on any of the open-top tour bus at the Colloseum, explore the main tourist trail and the bus will drop you back to the Colloseum a couple of hours later. There are also great facilities within a short walking distance of the guesthouse and this is worth bearing in mind if the weather gets the better of you and you want to avoid traipsing around the city. There are a whole host of great restaurants, wine bars and pubs located nearby. There are also many historic sights around the area and a couple of amazing churches worth visiting. If you’re on a budget or just tired of eating out there’s also a supermarket nearby and a great park ideal for picnicking.

Barbara and Vincent are the most genuinely welcoming hosts. They seem to do their utmost to ensure their guests have an enjoyable and comfortable stay in Rome and their hospitality has to be appreciated. Vincent has a wealth of knowledge about the city and is more than obliging to provide help and reliable information with your travel plans.

If you're travelling to Rome I would definitely recommend staying at Arena House - it's good value, clean, comfortable, welcoming and idealy located.
