I booked this trip to Rome for my Husbands birthday. After reading some of the reviews, I wondered if I had done the right thing. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and spacious and yes the rooms were on the small side but the time we spent in them it didnt matter. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Some people complained that there was no shower curtain but that's Italy!! Turn the shower head inwards and theres no problem!!!. Very centrally located within walking distance to the main sites. Pavement cafes and bars 2 minutes across the road from the hotel. We would definately go back.

After pointing our travel agent to this hotel based on other TripAdvisor reviews, I have to say we weren't disappointed with this hotel at all. The location, two short blocks from the Roma Termini station, makes it very convenient to hop the Metro or bus to visit any location in the city.

The rooms were on the smallish side, but our family of four were not interested in anything but a place to sleep and get cleaned up. The main bed were twins stuck together, with two cots on the outer edges of the room for our kids. All of the mattresses were firm, and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, and our room had a window that could easily open and let fresh air in.

Americans who don't travel to Europe much might be thrown off by the lack of shower curtain in the bathroom, or the fact that there doesn't seem to be washcloths in Italy. But we don't blame the hotel; this is a cultural thing.

The breakfast was typically Italian continental and decent. The staff was helpful, but sometimes a little too busy to answer questions in detail.

Bonus features: there's a laundromat (not self-service) around the corner from this hotel, and try the Trattatoria Gemma alla Lupa around the other corner. It's cash only, but the quattro frommage pizza is excellent.

If we visit Rome again, we will stay here.

This hotel is wonderful.
I went as part of a school trip and they were very accomodating and welcoming.
The hotel is a two minute walk from a huge train station that can take you directly to places like the Colosseum or the Vatican, and the station is huge, even including shops like mango. The trains are also direct, which makes travelling a lot easier.
The rooms were a bit small but clean, complete with minibar and a safe in the wardrobe. The bathroom was really nice; it was clean, of a reasonable size and nicely furnished. There was no shower curtain, but there was a bath.
The rooms and the hotel were very clean.
Breakfast was okay, but don't expect anything amazing. It basically consists of hams, cheeses, watery hot chocolate and rolls and condiments. However, the breakfast area was spacious and not bad to eat in.
I would definately reccomend this hotel as it is well kept, helpful, clean and in a good area.

We have just returned from Rome and staying at the Archimede Hotel. The Hotel is just as described on previous reviews. Very nice hotel and central. Rooms very comfortable although the beds a good bit firmer than the normal uk. The staff very helpful and courtious. The breakfast the normal continental type although the same everyday still a good selection. We didnt have other meals at the hotel as it if far cheaper to visit some of the local restaurants.

Couple of tips
dont choose a restaurant or cafe near any of the tourist attractions as you will pay dearly. walk a couple of blocks in either direction and you will get far cheaper and nicer food. The nearer you get to the Vatican city the higher all the prices get.
