Was expecting a dive for $65 tax included but was pleasantly surprised. It was only a layover stay, but I would have been happy to have had more time to check out the ruins and lovely neighborhood nearby. They also provided a shuttle to a nearby beach which also looked intriguing. The front desk was extraordinarily helpful in helping me to print out my boarding card. Arriving after 10 p.m., the only problem was that I spent more money on my r/t airport transfer (50 euro total) than I did on the room.

We have just returned from a week's holiday in Ostia Antica Park. Reception & dining room staff very helpful and pleasant. Cleaners, porter and shuttle bus drivers very helpful and pleasant. Reading some of the previous reviews I can't believe we're talking about the same hotel and staff. My two teenage children and I couldn't fault the hotel and its staff. Lovely, clean decor and hot water 24/7. Rooms cleaned every day. Punta Ovest beach, although a short drive away, is easily-reached by hotel minibus, or even the local bus service every 15minutes. The bus stop is RIGHT OUTSIDE the hotel. 1 euro for 75minutes travel be it bus, train or metro. (You couldn't beat it with a big stick!)
All in all, we found no faults whatsoever with Ostia Antica Park Hotel. And as for those of you complaining about the '15 Euro transfer per ROOM charge from airport' - HELLO!!!
A TAXI WOULD CHARGE YOU 40 EUROS!!!

What stands out for me was how rude the front lobby staff were. Upon arrival, the gentleman working behind the front desk was complaining about other customers that had phoned him and had a negative disposition for the duration of the trip.

The restaurant staff was pleasant although simple things like "tap water" were not available and they argued with me when I asked to charge the meal to my room.

The taxi that they ordered for me in the morning was like a small mini-van and upon arrival from the airport, the taxi driver asked for 30EU (should be less than 20) because no one else was in the van.

The room was musty and dark and the internet was too expensive (most places that I stayed offered internet for free).

BEWARE - The hotel is almost 2 kilometers from both Ostia Antica ruins and train station (and 10k from the airport - check Google maps!) and the only route is a very busy road with no sidewalks or shoulder. The website is blatantly false, and should be charged with false advertising - 800 meters is simply a lie - and staff was unapologetic. The 15 euro shuttle service to the airport is only available at limited times. The alternative is a 35 euro taxi which was late. The location is dismal, next to a busy road and completely isolated from all restaurants and shops. Don't stay here if you intend to walk to the ruins, or the train station! The beef "fillet" for 15 euros was not edible. However, the breakfast was fine, and room 204 is very large and spacious with a large balcony over the courtyard. The city bus service is good (cheap and fast), but buy your bus tickets for both directions at the front desk - we couldn't find anywhere in town to buy our return ticket, as the shops were closed. Tiny TV with poor reception. The ruins are great, but don't stay at this hotel to see them! The ruins are a short walk from the train station so, if you're in Rome, you can come for the day without having to spend a night.
