“Happy holiday in Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We booked a cheap hotel in the centre of Rome and did not expect a lot for the price. It is a two star hotel.
The staff, especially Nicholas, were very friendly and helpful. We even had breakfast, bread rolls, croissants, tea and coffee. The room was not big and the bathroom was small, especially in the double rooms, but heck, who needed a massive bathroom as we were out all day and only used the room to sleep in.
The room was very clean and tidy
thanks for a friendly stay

Our group of six had four rooms booked for three nights last week. My initial impression upon arrival was of a nice exterior in a good location.

However, when we found our rooms I actually felt like crying a bit! They were small, which was fine, but the standard was just so bad.

The bed was cripplingly uncomfortable, I didn't sleep well at all during my stay. The room was so dusty I was struggling with allergies too. The bathroom was TINY, not sure who or what would be able to fit in the shower. It had a useless plastic shutter which was broken and the water just went all over the floor instead. The toilet was leaking and must have been for some time, as there were big stains on the adjacent wall. There was rust and chipped plastic everywhere.

We were on the 4th floor and the water pressure and temperature was a bit hit or miss. The lift is somewhat interesting, so we stuck to the stairs.

Breakfast consisted of coffee and juice, with sugary croissants and bread rolls, nothing overly exciting.

The only good points was the receptionist (Nicolas?) who was very friendly and spoke good English, the black out window shutters and the location. Only a few minutes walk to Republica Sq metro station and plenty of shops and eateries nearby too. The Colosseum was only a 20minute walk away.

All things considered, I probably wouldn't stay here again. Yes it was cheap and I was by no means expecting the Hilton, but the dust, the bathroom and the concrete bed were a bit too much for me.

We arrived late at night and were given a room on the 6th floor.

Unfortunately water only went up to the 5th floor due to low water pressure. We were give a key to a room on the fourth floor to have facilities. The people in the room next to us said it was the third time in a week that had happened to them.

The worst part... When we talked to the front desk the next day their only response was " Such it life these things happen". I would have at least thought we should get a discount of some sort. Maybe even an apology :(

Wifi did not reach our floor at all.

Just stay someplace else.

Room Tip: If you have to stay here stay on a lower floor that has water.

The hotel was in a decent area, few great restaurants nearby, nice and quiet for a good nights sleep. We were on the top floor and the lift is a little scary, takes a long time to arrive and creaks up which was a bit of a pain as walking was far too hard after a long day walking around the city!

We booked a double room for two of us (Friends) and were planning on sharing the bed but luckily had been put into a room with two singles in it as well which was perfect for us as it gave us a bit of privacy. The room was ok, not especially nice but for the price I definitely couldn't complain - it was a fair size and had everything we needed. The bathroom was the same, however the shower varied from very hard for a few seconds to barely any water for a few seconds etc which was a little annoying.

Breakfast was nice, the waitresses were friendly enough and the hotel staff on reception were super helpful, willing to give us heaps of information and very friendly, spoke great English (As do most in Rome). There was Wifi in the lobby but not in our room on the 6th floor. Also, you have to hand in your key when you leave which is slightly annoying but possibly a good idea as saves worrying about it on the crowded transport.

Overall a good value hotel, not perfect but if you're young, only staying a couple of nights and need a bed and some food in the morning it is all you need! We would both stay here again.

Room Tip: Lower down floors would be better to save the hassle of the lift.

We stayed in this hotel very recently and I have to say I was not impressed.
We were placed on the 5th floor which you have to get to using the lift (unless you are willing to walk up a ridiculous amount of stairs). The lift is ancient and takes forever to get to you when called, and when it finally does it's tiny... Barely enough room to fit 2 people in!

The staff are ok and we're quite helpful with locations etc so for this we didn't have a problem.

The room however was another story completely. You get one pillow which is as hard as a rock on an uncomfortable bed. The sheets weren't changed the whole time we stayed there (which was 4 nights) and they had stains on the outside to begin with. The bathroom was disgusting and there were slates on our ceiling in there leading to some sort of loft which if someone went in there you would clearly be able to see the bathroom below. The shower was stupidly small and the door didn't shut. The toilet wouldn't flush and again the towels weren't changed for our whole stay.

The 'continental breakfast' consisted of a hot drink and either a hard bread roll or a croissant, no cereal or fruit in sight. I have never seen such a poor effort of breakfast in my life.

The general cleanliness of the hotel was ok but the building itself looks like it's falling to pieces, the holes in the walls and skirting boards aren't reassuring.

They advertise free wifi which only works if you sit downstairs on the stool next to the reception desk.

I wouldn't stay here again.

It is located at about 12 mins walk from Roma Termini. Actually, just at the end of Via Palestora (that's a street name).
It is kind of spooky. Perhaps because we did not see a lot of guests in the hotel at the time we arrived in the morning.

This was a substitute to our original hotel booking which did not get confirmed at the last moment.

Would recommend to stay in rooms towards the left of the staircase. It gives you a good view of garden and street.

The receptionist was missing from 5 pm to 7 am so if you need anything, you got to be dependent on the receptionist of Hotel Brasile, which is on the ground floor. Good luck to that!

Please spare yourself the worry, if you can have another choice. Otherwise, it is good if you want to crash just like we backpackers did. We hardly stayed in the hotel.

If you are looking a nice place to stay with a perfect location in Rome, this is the right Hotel. Taking into account the prices in Rome, this Hotel has a good relationship between price-quality. It means that you are paying not much (for the place in Rome), and you can't ask for more.
The receptionists were very kind and helpful . The room is Ok.. not great but Ok. The Bathroom had some issues, but as I wrote before, the Hotel is perfect for being all day visiting Rome and being there just for sleep.
Breakfast was good and it has everything you need for a good start of the day.
