We read the reviews on this place about the non working bathroom fixtures, etc.. and still decided to move ahead with our trip. we werent expecting world class service, all we really wanted from them was a place to lay our heads after a long trip out into the city!
Rooms were obviously small, we had 3 beds in our room which looked like it could serve a double bed only. one of them was a cot against the wall. Airconditioning was fairly priced at 5 euros a day, which was a blessing during the hot summer! No internet, and the breakfast selection was really poor. We tried asking the reception about some good places to eat, etc. But they said they didnt really know of any places except the ones on the street. This was a little strange, knowing where some good food locations are is something i expect out of a hotel. They werent really willing to help set up reservations, instead telling us we had phone in the room that we could do it ourselves.
The main issue that we faced is their attitudes. I didnt really belive that the hotel staff would actually call someone stupid or swear at them until we had a bit of a crisis in one of the rooms. One of my companions decided to go out later in the night while myself and another companion slept. When they came back the key got jammed in the door. unfortunately the door was really stuck and they just tore into my friend, calling her stupid and swearing at her, telling her that she is a stupid girl for letting this happen. We were stuck in the room overnight till 10 AM when they decided, instead of getting a locksmith to clear the lock, to break the door down. They literally smashed the frame of the door using a screwdriver and a hammer!! It was the most distressing experience ive ever had at a hotel, and the fact that they were cussing out my friend, and making her cry, was not acceptable.
I will never, ever in a million years recommend this place. Its a cheap place. But being sworn at and blamed by the staff for a simple jammed door is ludicrous. There is a best western just down the street which looks a lot more inviting now that i know about this hotel.
