We stayed at the Romano for several nights on our recent trip to Rome. We found the location to be absolutely perfect! It was literally around the corner from the Colosseum and was within walking distance of several restaurants and shops.

The price of the room included morning coffee, juice and a pastry that required a ticket. You'll need to ask the front desk for the ticket and take it next door to the coffee counter.

The rooms are nothing special but they are clean and large compared with others we've seen.

There is a wonderful little restaurant just outside the door of the hotel that we frequented more than once. Great food at reasonable prices. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

My wife and I came across this place when booking our honeymoon... and it was one of the best choices we made. This hotel was GREAT! The location is perfect, directly across the street from the forum. The hotel rooms were clean, workers were nice. We stayed for a week and loved every minute of it. You will not find a nicer hotel for the price and location. You can easily walk to everything resturants, attractions, and train station. When I go back to Italy I will without a doubt be staying here. Don't second guess, just book your room...you will not be disappointed!!!!

We were in Rome for just two nights and wanted to see the main sights. The location is great for tourists as it's right around the corner from the forum and the Colloseum. Nearly everything else is within walking distance. It's not the most charming neighborhood or hotel, but very practical and a good value in this expensive city. The room was worn, but clean. The bed was comfortable. We had a little balcony. The maids were incredibly neat (would straighten our belongings as well as clean the room). The front staff was extremely helpful.

I enjoyed this hotel. As in all of Italy, it was a noisy room. But the hotel is center to all the action! Right across from the Forum, the Coliseum was a block away, and everything else you would want to see is less than an hours walk! We would start out every day thinking it would take us hours to reach a destination that ended up being less than a few North American sized blocks away.

The hotel was able to accommodate our family of four in one room for a reasonable price, fitting in two single beds in addition to a double. The rooms and bathrooms are modern and clean and for a tourist, the location is great: the hotel is right across the street from the Forum and around the corner from the Colosseum. The expression my kids' faces as they turned left and left out of the hotel and saw the Colosseum looming up right in front of them was priceless. The hotel is also right in between two metro stops (Cavour and Colosseo on the Blue Line -- you can get off at either). There is one big disadvantage: the hotel is at the corner of two major streets and the traffic noise goes on all night. While we were there there was also jackhammering on the street in front of the hotel starting at 8 in the morning. Also, the lobby is tiny and there is no breakfast room. We had breakfast in a roped off area on the sidewalk in front of the hotel and I'm not sure what they do in bad weather. (The breakfast is also nothing to write home about -- packaged biscuits and a hard pastry, although the cappuccino that comes with it is delicious.)
