“Location Location Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2011

Whilst this hotel may not be 5 star luxury it has both value for money, cleanliness, free wifi and a brilliant location on its side. We stayed for 4 nights in late August 2011 and it was the perfect base to explore Rome for the first time. Within easy walking distance of the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and Piazza Navona, as well as the main shopping streets. Also on easy transport links for both the underground (easiest way to get to the Collesseaum) and the buses (best way to zigzag on a couple to the Vatican and to our favourite eating and aperitif spots in Trastavere- use main piazzas such as Piazza Argentina as directional guides)
Rooms had AC but the control was half hidden in the curtains. Staff were really pleasant and breakfast typical European sweet treats and coffee.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Delle Regioni in July. The hotel is in a perfect location right between the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. It is a smaller hotel but served its purpose for us. The room was clean, breakfast was great, staff was friendly, Air Conditioning was working - what more could you ask.

I'd recommend asking for a room closer to the lobby so that you can take advantage of the free wifi in the bedroom. We wern't able to get a signal in the room but had fast service in the lobby.

Overall - great stay! Rome in August is a lot of fun. Just double what you plan on spending as Rome is very very expensive - and the exchange rate hurt even more. A typical dinner for my wife and I (bottle of wine, two 1st course dishes, breshetta) would cost $70 amerian dollars. Oh well - when in rome.

We just want to say thanks to the staff at Hotel Delle Regioni for making our stay perfect. We stayed over 4 days, early July. We had our 21 month old boy with us.

The hotel is perfectly located, a stones throw from the Trevi Fountain. The Spanish Steps is also close by.

The room was ideal, good air-con, cot and bedding lovely and clean. Nice shower and clean towels daily. Breakfast was nice. Absolutely no complaints.

The staff were great, always very helpful with giving advice re places to see, eat and how to get there, providing free maps too. They even booked some tours for us and arranged for us to be collected from the Hotel door - ideal, especially with a young child.

They recommended a restaurant nearby, slightly off the main tourist walkway to the Trevi Fountain and it was lovely, felt like proper Italy and not just some tourist-filled restaurant.

A little tip re getting to the Hotel from the airport if using a budget airline is to get the shuttle with one of the companies, only 4 euros, which drops you at the Termini (main train station). Take the Metro (underground train) from within the Termini and get off at Barberini, which i think is only a stop or two away. The Hotel is closeby but it cannot be seen from the main road (Via Tretone I think it is) as the entrance is up a side street. I think there is a green lit sign 'HOTEL' sticking out which can be seen. When you see that you know that you've found it.

Thanks again to all the staff for a great holiday.

Kev, Steph & Will-i-am !!

Get what you pay for!! the room rates were very fair in conparision to other hotel in the area. Spent 4 nights, 2 rooms (5 persons). We first arrive the reservation was mxied up only had 1 double bed in each room, so we were to sleep 3 in one bed for 2 nights. Lucky that it was a small child. When we were final moved a bigger room (staff moved our luggage) when returning to the room that evening the Air Cond. wasn't working( outside temp that day was 33 c) When we informed the front desk the gentleman that was working that night ( was able to understand English) he said that the Air Cond. was fine and there was nothing he could do. Sleeplist night!! That morning it was fixed and we were looked after but not to our liking. Beside a couple of set backs the location was excellent to all the major attractions, blocks away from the Spanish Steps/ Trivai Fountain. We were able to walk to all attraction and even a couple of days came back to the room to get out of the heat.

Dear Mrs. Holmes, we are very sorry for the review that you left here. We would like to clarify point by point everything.
First of all, as specified at the time of check-in, you have booked 2 double rooms (also because our hotel has no triple rooms) for which it was impossible to fulfill your request. The second night we proceeded to give a room a little bigger so you can add an extra bed, even if it was not specified at all in your reservation. Obviously, this has resulted different shifts and changes room for other customers, with its inconvenience for us, but we did everything to make you feel more comfortable. About air conditioning, as you said us, it worked in the master bedroom regularly so maybe you have not been well regulated. However, we also feel sorry that the price is high, because if you look at the hotels in the same area, I do not think they are cheaper than us. However, we are sorry if you have not found the best and in any case, we hope you will have a good memory of Rome.

We stayed for 4 nights on our honeymoon at this hotel.
Positives: clean, friendly staff, great coffee, affordable, good location, quiet, charming, and air conditioning worked well
Negatives: very tiny shower- smaller than the one in our stateroom on the cruise ship! everything (but the bed) was a little on the small side, but we are small people, and that's Europe! (Plus it is a ten room hotel, so it is not like the are accommodating large crowds). Also, the toilet hard hard time flushing properly.

Overall, this hotel cost us 400 Euros for 4 nights, which is a great deal for the location, which is near the Spanish steps, the Barberini metro stop, and the Trevi fountain.
The staff was very helpful in trying to locate our lost camera. It never did get found, but they called the taxi company a few times for us.

Room Tip: Our Room 8 was near the coffee bar area, so we could hear the clattering of dishes at 7 am.

I chose this hotel after reading some previous Tripadvisor reviews. As others have said, it is in a good, central location close to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. The entrance is located on a road just off the Via del Tritone and is close to Barberini Metro Station, buses and ATMs.

The room itself was small but very clean, with an en-suite (shower was VERY small!), air-con and a flat screen tv. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and all spoke very good English. Breakfast was ok, though no more than you would expect - croissants, rolls, cereal, etc. - and the coffee was good!

Just a little reminder, as from 1 January 2011, a city tax has been added to all hotel stays and is per person, per night (up to a maximum of 10 nights). For our stay, this added another 8 Euros to the price of the room and we were told it had to be paid in cash!!!

However, I would definitely stay here again.

The room is decent, and the location is great. You can walk to a lot of things, and there's a subway and bus stop right nearby.
When you're in Rome, you shouldn't be at your hotel much so if you're only concerned with seeing the sights and not location, you could stay along the metro line in another part of town for less money and be fine. The trains and buses get you everywhere pretty easily so there's an option to save money if you don't care about your hotel's surroundings.
Overall, we had a great stay here, but I would think about staying somewhere further away for less money.
