Very clean hotel with friendly and informative staff always willing to assist, ample continental breakfast, but was let down when asked where the bar was and was directed to couple seats in the reception area, non the less made use of this facility. Only let down was the location of the hotel, ie. distance but we knew this when booked, but this gave us a chance to see the real Rome and gave us the oppertunity to mix and dine with the locals who were very friendly. Transport was easy with the bus stop located just across from the hotel, which ran every 5 mins and a 30 minute journey gets you to all the fantastic sites of Rome. IMPORTANT, when we asked the hotel staff for a recomended restraunt they advised on Citta Giardino which is located in no more than 2 minutes walk from hotel, this was a bit of a let down but if you continue a further 2 minutes on the same side you will come across a truly magnificent restraunt called, Ponte Vecchio. We have eaten in some of the best restraunts across the globe and I would have to be honest and rate this up there with the best.Fantastic food and vino and very friendly staff, totaly flawless, which definatley contributed to a fantastic romantic and unforgetable holiday.

For the price they charged it is a good hotel, but they could do much better if they improved their service. They refused to open the terrace with the remark, never before 10 am. At check out they tried to charge me for roomservice I didn´t had, then changed it to second breakfast, because I left the breakfast room and came back a couple of minutes later with my wife. I refused, had to sign a slip of paper and they let it go. Apart from this unpleasantness I recommend this hotel, because it is a bargain and the rooms are good.
If you arrive at Ciampino airport you can save a good deal if you use public transport. At the airport we bought a oneday ticket (4 Euro) for all public transport and an additional ticket (1,20Euro)for the bus from the airport to Anagnina subway station. There you validate the oneday ticket and take the tube to Termini station and take the express bus # 90 to Piazza Sempione a twenty minute ride. The bus starts at Termini and you will find a seat. From Piazza Sermione it is 2 minutes walk to the hotel. We bought a Romecard for 20 Euro from the touristinformation at Termini and could use the card for 3 more days of public transport and two museums.
As mentioned by other reviews, opportunities for restaurants in the vincinity of the hotel are limited. One is just across the mainstreet, you can´t miss it and the other a few hundred yards
from the hotel. Both are not bad, but nothing special either.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Sunrise Hotel and I would recommend it to anyone. It is a very pretty Hotel, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean, (I am sure our towels were changed every day!) True, it isn't a 20 minute walk to the centre, but the buses and metro are so easy to follow, and cheap, this isn't a problem. The staff at the Hotel - (particularly Carlos on the desk), are more than helpful. We arrived too early to check in so Carlos recommended that we went to see the Coliseum. When we got back, much later I might add, our bags were in our room as promised.
Just a couple of words of warning - if you have walking difficulties there are alot of steps to reach the Hotel and food/drink is very expensive in Rome. Apart from that Rome's a wonderful place to visit - and the Sunrise Hotel makes the stay perfect.

Booked with Hotels.com and was a bit unsure when reading the reviews on here..... They are all WRONG!!! The hotel is a 15-20 minute bus ride away from the centre but this is not a problem as buses run every 5-10 minutes as the hotel is close to a major bus route (60 Express). The distance caused us no problems what so ever!

The staff all spoke excellent English (from what I saw they also spoke French) , they were so helpful, they gave us brilliant directions and tips for around Rome and generally made the stay brilliant!

We stayed in a double room which was a fairly large room with en-suite, it was all so clean. The maids come in daily and did a fantastic job as I did leave the room in a mess with the morning rush of trying to get organised for the day ahead in Rome!

I would definately go back to this hotel if I stay in Rome again, I think the only thing I would mention is if you are looking for a hotel in the dead centre of Rome - this isn't it, but for those willing to travel 15 minutes on the bus STAY HERE!

Rooms are clean and nice, and the staff professional and friendly, but mishaps and confusions were frequent -- and this made it harder to balance out the fact that the hotel is some 30-45 minutes by bus from the central core of the city. Among the issues we encountered during our stay: contrary to advertisement, there is no internet service in the hotel save for a pay-as-you go terminal in the lobby; breakfast was not always available at the posted times and, indeed, when it was available it was equivalent to what you would expect in a youth hostel (not the 4 star hotel it purported to be when we booked) unless you wished to pay for ’supplements’ like brewed coffee, juice, and eggs; and, continuing this, some posted rules are meant to be followed and some are not, apparently depending on when the manager is around or not (this, most poignantly made clear when the manager yelled at three groups of people on the jacuzzi deck, making everyone feel so uncomfortable that they left the area, not to return). Also, the jacuzzi had greenish algae in it. Lastly, there is a very limited selection of nearby restaurants as well, which is something most travelers will note as a detriment . . . especially so if the breakfast service closes early without notice.
