My husband and I stayed here for tthe last two nights of a two week trip to Europe to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. All the other reviewers do a great job describing the location issue. You have to like to walk because the price you pay for staying in a lovely residential area is that you walk and you walk and you walk to get to either the subway or any interesting sites. The building is beautiful from the outside and our room (#343) was a little on the small side I'd say for Euro 220. Because we were in Rome in early October, the A/C had been turned off while we enjoyed two beautifully warm days. To get some air circulation in the room at night, we opened our french doors which unfortunately overlook a neighbor's home with a barking golden retriever. The dog starts barking around 5:45 or 6:00 a.m. and he was still barking at midnight when we tried to go to sleep. When we tried to take a nap during the day to make up for our lost sleep at night . . . guess what. Barking dog. I complained to the front desk and I wrote an email to the manager of the hotel after we returned asking for an adjustment to our bill. To no avail. There must be other rooms that don't face the barking dog house but be sure and ask. Our stay was nowhere near worth Euro 220/night. The lack of A/C coupled with the uncontrollable dog barking PLUS a management team that wasn't that interested in customer service was a HUGE negative.
