I have seen on the website pretty nice reviews about this hotel, but in fact it was even better that I expected. We have booked two rooms: one double and one tiple as we came with our family: me, wife, daughter (12) and mother with her friend.
For me it would be hard to differentiate all the areas, because the locations was perfect, rooms - big, reception - attentive. Maybe breakfast was't very rich, but anyway we are more focused on the quality of rooms and service, than breakfast as breakfast you can get in any other restaurant in Rome.

  • Liked — location and calm
  • Disliked — for some peaple it could be too far from metro (about 800 m)

The BEST thing about this hotel is how quiet the area is...& YES, it's in Rome! Our room was small and cute & clean & we had a comfy bed & a bath with a shower. We drank Chianti in the garden & it was so relaxing! We walked to the Colloseum in about 15 minutes (I think we went the wrong way at first!) I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

sometimes in life you get a little bit more than you expected and our stay at the aventino is a prime example, this hotel is a little gem with a clean bright room a full size bathroom and a balcony that we requested (and if only we could have requested the weather to go with it ).if you are going to Rome this is the place to stay at a very reasonable price definitely excellent value helpful staff and a cracking breakfast to set you off on a days exploring

Fantastic hotel, with wonderful amenities! Located on a quiet residential street, between TWO Metro stops, Circo Massimo & Pyramide. It's a 10 minute or less walk to the "club district," too!

I had a HUGE marble roman jacuzzi tub, with windows that opened wide & out, above. There was a wall-height heated towel rack, and marble floors! The bed was GIGANTIC... King PLUS, If I had to guess! Nice wood flooring, and PLENTY of built-in drawers & an old-fashioned key wardrobe, built-in. Plenty of lighting, whatever the mood. Th tv was quite smallish, but a couple of music stations kept me entertained. Wet-bar (Pricey, as usual, so beware!) & a roomy desk to write your postcards at. There was also a bidet, and a room safe. Lighting fixtures pretty contemporary.

The breakfast room buffet was delightful, and was included in the price, on Venere. Dining in, or out, in a glass-enclosed breakfast room, overlooking the gardens. The big, marble lobby was bright, pleasant & professional. They lock access to the garden area & hotel & night, for security, but desk always recognized me, on my return. NICE, new glass/chrome lift, too!

The photos attached REALLY don't do it justice!

  • Liked — The Room ROCKED!
  • Disliked — Internet Cable In Room, But Didn't Bring Laptop - Lobby Charges 4 Euro per 1/2 Hour!!!!

After reading Trip Advisor reviews this place was pretty much as I expected it. We were there in May.

If you are prepared to walk around you will be rewarded by the beautiful vantage points nearby, old lanes with high walls that have an antique aura as you walk down to the Tiber, and the general tranquility of the residential district. It is an area almost closed off from the traffic hubbub surprisingly close by.

The hotel itself has a private garden where one can eat breakfast. The meal was lovely, the best we had while travelling through Italy. Fresh fruit, croissants, cheese, eggs, ham etc etc. The coffee and juice were not so good though.

The room was nicely decorated but quite small-not a lot of space to swing a cat. Another point was that the rooms were quite dusty / dirty in the corners. Someone needs to clean floors better although the rest was OK.

All in all I would be happy to stay there again, especially as it's so handy for walking to the ancient sites.

  • Liked — the tranquil setting of the hotel
  • Disliked — floors could have been cleaner
