Staff were helpful and friendly. We arrived very early and asked if we could leave our bags with them. When we got back the bags had been taken up to our room. The room was very large. Cool marble floors and a spacious bathroom too. Air conditioning was efficient and quiet. Staff were happy to give directions. Breakfast on the roof terrace was pleasant and included in the very reasonable room price. We found taxis very cheap, but do make sure you use an official taxi. At the station touts tried to direct us away to another car. Also, watch out for the main bar in Plazza S. Silvestro. When we asked for two beers the waiter brought litre pots and they were very expensive. He then tried to short change us! A fantastic bar close to the hotel was the front of an Art Noveau styled cabaret. The Bar Margarita. The patron was very friendly and served lovely sandwiches and coffee. The hotel is two minutes from the Spanish Steps, if you do not stop in the Margarita! Rome is a compact city and the hotel very central. We walked everywhere. The steps up to the first floor that some people have mentioned are not that bad. A family staying at the hotel with young children parked their pushchair next to the classical statue in the entrance. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and they certainly helped our first visit to Rome to be a good one.

Hotel Pincio is literally a 2min walk to the Spanish steps and the Trevi fountain. In the center of Rome, with a great view of Rome on the patio during breakfast. We had a quad room in the center of Rome at a minimal cost. I will definately be staying here again.

  • Liked — The location was terrific!!!
  • Disliked — The breakfast was very plain.

We stayed at the Pincio from May 11th thru the 18th and had a wonderful time. We were lucky enough to get the only room on the top floor, right across from the breakfast mezzanine and it was excellent. Room 74 is a corner room at the back of the building with two windows and a beautiful cross breeze.

In the mornings we woke to the smell of coffee and breakfast and for the rest of the day the floor was ours. Breakfast service was outstanding!

We traveled with friends who's room was on the 3rd floor and every evening we would meet on the mezzanine and have a glass of wine before heading out for dinner. It was like our own private terrace.

Our friend's room faced the street and for the first two days their a/c wasn't cooling their room adequately. Opening their windows let the street noise in and so they weren't really happy until the a/c was working properly.

Our room was very clean, the maid service was excellent, and everyone on staff was as nice as could be. The Internet access wasn't what I'd expected - I brought my laptop thinking I could get online - but they had an Apple desktop in a computer room downstairs available. It was still valuable being able to download my camera pictures onto my laptop but otherwise having it was useless. The shower was small, a tight fit, and if you drop the soap you better be able to squat 'cause there's not enough room to bend over. Be sure to bring a travel adapter for the electricity!

This was our first trip to Rome and we definitely want to go back. Staying at the Pincio again would be wonderful. We loved our location and probably logged 6 to 8 miles a day seeing the sights and wandering around Rome.

Because the hotel elevator doesn't go down to the first floor, the Pincio wouldn't be a great hotel for someone with a walking issue - but for that matter Rome might not be a good idea either as there's a lot of walking to do.

Location excellent for walking to the Spanish Steps & Trevi and not far from all of the ancient sites, we easily walked tofrom the Vatican Cty. Our first morning I was out running at 6 in the Borghese Park, which is just up nearby Pincio Hill & behind the Steps. An hours canter before a shower & breakfast which is served between 7 & 10am.
The rooms are clean & well looked after with plenty of drawer space etc.
Staff helpful & always attentive.
No problems recommending to anyone looking for a relaxing base. Breakfast were usual continental but plenty of it & set us up for the day.
Quaint lift which holds 4 people or 2 with luggage!.
Real value for money.
