“hotel???”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

we arrived later in the evening, about 10, and had a hard time finding the hotel. the picture is very misleading as it looks like it is the hotel front but is just of the street. we eventually found a small plaque on the wall by a big dark door which was shut and locked. we checked the buzzers and could only see lots of private residences, it was dark and neither the sign or buzzers were lit. eventually someone who lived there came out and let us in. it turns out the "hotel" is on the 3rd floor of a residential building with two flights of stairs between each floor....there is a lift but is tiny and very old, def not enough room for a push chair or a wheelchair, and the floor dropped when you got in and the walls were cracked! im not a big fan of lifts anyway so this was a nightmare. when we got up the stairs we found that there was no proper reception..just a room with a desk in it...we found a member of staff in the stair well. the rooms are freshly decorated, clean and modern which is the ONLY redeeming fact of this place. there are steps up to most of the rooms and also up to the bathrooms making this place a definate no no for any disabled access and difficult for small children. there are tv,s but only italian channels, not even a news channel. our safe did not work. there was no hot water for all 4 days of our stay. there was no buffet breakfast as advertised as there is no dining room or bar or anything. breakfast is brought to your room on a tray and of course no table to eat at so its balanced on the bed....the choice of continental breakfast is made by the staff and no chance of a top up of tea or coffee etc. then to top it off....it started raining and it was then that we discovered that the hotel roof leaked! our tiny room was dry but there was buckets and sheets to mop up the water in the hall. so....if you want a nice enough room on the outskirts of central rome to crash in and your fit enough to climb the stairs then fine.....but if you would like to stay in a hotel then give this dump a wide berth...they say it has 3 stars..we saw lots of other 3 star hotels around town and they were nothing like this....cant believe it has 3 stars?? and cant understand why this place is on all the websites...dont the travel companies check places out before they offer them to their clients? have stayed in better hostels for a fraction of the cost .

As I have a travel agency, I felt good that it was me staiyng there at the very beginning of MF. The stuff is very nice, but there are rooms in a building, it's an entire floor and all the rooms...are like for rent, which is a big difference from a hotel. There are no reception, no breakfast room, no lobby etc..so not a hotel! But, if u know it..and I didn;t!!! you can take it if u like, because the rooms are very clean and nice, this year I guess it was becoming a hotel...I don;t know Italian rules, but I,m kind of surprised this is call a "hotel" and not apartments. Knowing it it would be fair and you can choose it if u agree with it!
The location is great, there are buses nearby and a lot of restaurants, u can leave your luggage after check-out, so I could recommand it to all people and tourists who know this is an aparthotel and liked the idee.

We stayed here our first night in Rome. It was a little hard to find since it didn't look like a hotel but it was neat when we realized what the layout was. We liked how it's nestled into an existing building. We felt less like tourists and more like we were part of the city. The staff was very friendly and helped us up to our room. The view was beautiful and the room was comfortable. The elevator/lift was very small so be prepared for that and you will see that in many hotels. Breakfast was delivered to our room the next morning and was very nice, the staff had asked us what our preferrences were in regards to tea/coffee/pastries. If you're used to something else such as cereal or bacon/eggs, there are several nice places to eat close to the hotel - but have the hotel breakfast first, it's a nice start to the day! It was nice to have something different than what we're used to at home!

Room Tip: If you want a view, ask for one. Since many hotels are in exisiting buildings, sometimes you'll...
