Admitedly we booked this hotel in some haste after reading great reviews for hotel of same name nearer the attractions so please check location carefully!!
However once aware of our error wasn't to concerned after seeing distance stated as 15 mins and good transport links. On arrival all seemed well, welcoming freindly staff and this was the case throughout, however when we attempted the journey to Rome's centre our mistake began to dawn on us, half an hour bus journey to a stop in the middle of nowwhere (certainly nowhere you'd feel happy hanging about for to long) followed by various waiting times from 5 - 35 mins for connecting bus, then another 10-20 mins pending traffic until in Rome's centre.
The alternative was a bus to a metro station which seemed a bit bettter as metros very frequent (door to centre approx 45 mins) however there was engineering works and so metro heavily disrupted and scuppered this plan on a couple of journeys. The best option would be taxi's however obviously not very cost effective, this is where it got really interesting, 'a full blown armed police presence' taxi strike was in progress for the duration of our 4 day trip (not the hotels fault but i'm pretty sure it wasnt a spur of the moment strike that couldn't have been made known to guests prior to arrival!)
One evening after tube disruption's & lack of buses compared to passengers, stranded we had to take an illegal cab for a hefty fee, whilst i appreciate the taxi strike was bad luck this hotels 'Rome' location was appalling. Fortunately the restaurant provided nice simplistic meals as this was where we had to spend most evenings.
Hotels shuttle bus is mainly for decor on drive it would appear and no chance of help during these desperate transport failings.
Nice hotel if you plan to hire transport avoid if not.
