The Domus was the perfect place to stay in Rome - a few blocks from the Termini, where you can catch the subway or buses to any location easily. It was in a quiet neighborhood, away from the rush of tourists. Rooms facing the street are fun for people-watching, especially in the mornings with the local street market. They do start setting up at 6am, but the windows do a great job of blocking out noise. There is only WiFi at the hotel, but if you need computers/internet, there is an internet cafe/laundry facility 2 block away on Via Varese, 33, and can be used for 1.5Euro /hour (hint: their printer sucks, so if you need to print documents, do it elsewhere). Breakfasts are sparse, and the staff describe it as a typical "European breakfast". I remedied this by going to a local grocery store and buying cheese and meusli (there are small refridgerators in the rooms), and this supplemented their breakfasts affordably. Lovely, helpful staff. Others have commented on the hotel being in a questionable neighborhood, but traveling as a solo female, did not find it to feel unsafe at all. It was a quiet, lovely retreat at the end of long sightseeing days and I would recommend it to anyone without reservation.

We stayed 2 nights on 9/24-26/ 2009 before our cruise and we found the place so clean and roomy, the 3 brothers are so helpful, finding the place was no problem just accross Roma Termini and 2 blocks walk. We came back for another night on Oct. 10, this time he gave us the whole apartment with 3 bedroom, and he only charged us for the same. I recommend this place to anyone even for someone who has never been in Rome, very clean, breakfast are okay and the brothers speak English fluently. With their directions we managed to see Villa d Este Tivoli with no problem. You made our stay wonderful. When we go back we will use your hotel again, it was a bargain for the price and location, perfect. Thank you so much.

Stayed here for 3 nights in June 2009. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Great location, reasonably priced, cappuccino and fresh pastries are a great start to the day, and excellent service!

Location:
The hotel is located just a couple of blocks from the Termini station so it is really easy to get to from the airport. It is also a great starting point for sightseeing since Termini is the central hub for Rome's subway system. There are several restaurants around the corner and a convenience store nearby. There are also a lot of shops at the Termini station. There also is a farmer's market / street fair on the same block so plenty of food and miscellaneous trinkets available for anyone interested.

Rooms:
Very spacious and includes a mini-fridge, in-room safe, air conditioning, bidet. Rooms are very well kept and nicely decorated. Furniture was in good condition. They have daily housekeeping service. Hotel also has an elevator.

Service:
Cappuccino and fresh pastries are available for breakfast and were very good. The guys that run the hotel are very helpful. They are at the reception desk 24/7 so you can come and go as you please and ask them for recommendations, travel info, etc. any time. They also have a bellman to help you carry your luggage to and from your room.

This was the second hotel we stayed at in Rome. It is located in a decent part of town 3-5 min from Termini (train station) which made travel around the city fairly easy as there was the metro stop very close by. The hotel itself is within a building that you must buzz into, so it is very safe. The room was ok; two twin beds pushed together with one sheet made up the queen sized bed. The bathroom was small and the shower drain was clogged which was remedied fairly quickly. There was FREE INTERNET, which was sweet and a rare commodity, it seems, in italy. The breakfast was very basic, but adequate. Overall, a good experience and worth the price.
